INTRODUCTION Speaking in relation with the business research, it is being referred as the systematic process of undertaking an investigation for acquiring new understanding in regards with the management as well as business along with the findings which have some or the other impacts. This reflective essay aims to critically evaluate the potential outcome of the research that will be conducted on the selected topic, “Connection between employee motivation and employee satisfaction for improved performance within an organisation. A study on Marks and Spencer”. The reflective essay will also highlight the significance of the possible contribution of the research study. MAIN BODY Reflective account on the possible research outcome The completion of the research proposal as a sub-section of the degree requirement has encompasses my engagement in a highly challenging as well as encouraging research experience. Seeking help from the tutors and knowledge acquired through completing modules, I have gained understanding of carrying out a research work. Based on the comprehension and support from the module, as a part of the module requirement, I have undertaken a research study with the main aim to evaluate the connection between employee motivation and employee satisfaction for improved performance within an organisation. A study on Marks and Spencer” (Jasper, 2018). For the purpose of fulfilling the main aim of the study effectively, I have formulated different small objectives which will help me in having the desired research outcome. One of the objectives of this is to determine the role of employee motivation in enhancement of the overall performance in the firm. It also aims to study varied types of motivation schemes that supports the firm in making improvement in the performance of the employees. Further, the role of satisfaction level of the workers along withthemotivationinMarks&Spencerforimprovedbusinessperformanceand productivity. As per my opinion, all these objectives will certainly help in reaching the desired research outcome. Considering the preliminary literature review being conducted during the process of writing the research proposal, it has been determined that motivation of the workers plays a very crucial role within the firm as it supports in making improvement in the working style and patterns of the workers and enhances their capabilities as well. each and every single company who has attained a growth in the market are being backed by a foundation of committed employees and their commitment level is the resultant of the job satisfaction as 1
well as employee motivation (De Sousa Sabbagha, Ledimo and Martins, 2018). From this, it can be inferred that employee motivation along with their satisfaction level are important for the success of the firm. Moreover, there were different studies being conducted in this context and all confirms the fact that motivation and satisfaction are nothing but an energy that forces the workers in the direction of organizational goals. Other than this, it has also been found out from the investigation that it is not possible for the firms to have higher level of performance without commitment. Thus, for the purpose of creating an edge over the other firms in the market, the firms are required to have competitive employee practices as well as policies in place. moving further, motivation is a significant stimulation which helps in directing the behaviour of the humans. There is no single individual who have same conduct along with attitude and thus, in the middle of this diversification, companies are assumed to develop practices which will help in satisfying the overall team and not just the single individual. Additionally, business corporations should be in a position to analyse the internal motivation which is being derived by the workers from satisfaction of their jobs and should be further enhanced by external motivation for which support of different motivational theories can be taken. On the other hand, some studies have focused on the fact that motivation is the main element that supports in boosting the working ability of the workers with a view to make them work efficiently. Additionally, it has been also investigated that those employees who are motivated are more productive and assist in achievement of the aim and goals of the business efficiently. Furthermore, motivated workers are even more engaged within their work tasks and involves in crucial decision-making process of the firm and helps the business in attaining higher growth prospects. Thus, it can be said that it is the workers of the firm that are accountable for accomplishing the task and activities in an appropriate way and brings profitability in this competitive business environment (Chandrasekara, 2019). Underpinning the discussion further, it has been also found out that the motivation and satisfaction level of the workers are closely connected with each other and provides a supportive hand in attainment of the goals and targets of the organization effectively. When each and all employees are motivated and encouraged than they employ their best efforts to work relevantly. Thus, it can be attributed that motivation and satisfaction are important factors for enhancement of the work performance as well as production level within the business. within stipulated period of time, motivated and satisfied worker can carry out their work assignments and task. Consequently, from the literature being investigated by me, it can be said there is a connection amid employee motivation and satisfaction for improved 2

performance of the business organization and this will the potential research outcome of the study (Dalvit, 2021). Reflective account on the significance of the possible contribution of the research study I have selected this topic of employee motivation and satisfaction in improving the performance of Marks and Spencer as it is quite significant in the present global business environment. The research study will contribute significantly in helping the firms who are facing some issues in adapting in this changing business scenario. For surviving in this challenging time, companies are required to be adaptable. They are in great need to formulate some strategies for enduring the challenging competition and sustain in longer period of time. One of the greatest challenges, business corporations are facing in the current time is deciding and choosing the ways of managing the rising level of employee turnover that may be because of the migration of the industrial workers, digitalization and globalization. However, there are many other reasons as well behind this migration that is lack of motivation, satisfaction and commitment for the firm. Thus, this perspective emphasized the significance of the current work of motivation as well as satisfaction for improvement in the organizational performance along with the possible contribution of the current research work (Pang and Lu, 2018). In addition to this, there are many organizations whose policies and practices are not directed in regards with retention as well as attraction. This, research study will help those firms in planning effective strategies for motivating, retaining existing employees and attracting large pool of ne candidates. Furthermore, it will also be going to offer support to thehumanresourcemanagersofvariedfieldstoovercomethenegativeimpactof demotivation as well as dissatisfaction like lower level of performance, morale, motivation, absenteeism, coordination and objectives of the organization. therefore, it is important to study and comprehend the factors which are responsible for motivating the workers and helps in creation of job satisfaction between them. moving further, the research study being undertaken by me also makes efforts to put forth factors of human resource management so as to be stressed upon to augment the motivation level along with job satisfaction level of the workers ultimately increasing the commitment level of the workers (Varma, 2017). Even though the connection amid the motivation and satisfaction and other human resource management practices and performance of the organization is being established as well as confirmed repeatedly with the passage of time, nevertheless, it is also known that dynamism which helps in bringing that level of performance cannot be completely controlled 3
that is the factors that helps in motivating as well as satisfying the workers changes according to the changes in both personal as well as professional set-up. Thus, this research work will stress-up on the motivational schemes, factors and methods that satisfied the workers and makes improvement in their performance for longer term influence. This research work will help in maintaining uniqueness and thereby helps the firms by making a possible contribution towardssustainingacompetitiveadvantageandextendedorganizationalperformance. Overall, it can be said that the present research work will make an important contribution in the field of human resource management and to all those who are desiring to carrying out research in respect with this subject area (Attia and Edge, 2017). CONCLUSION Thus, from the above analysis, it can be concluded that the above reflective essay has clearly determined and evaluated the potential research outcome of the research that will be conducted by the researcher in future. Further, significant emphasis has also been placed on analysing the significance of the possible contribution of the research study. With this, the related stakeholders of the study will have an idea about the worthiness of this research work. 4
