INTRODUCTION Employability skills refers to the skills and abilities that individual should possess for getting employment in an organization ((Raven and Le, 2015).In this assignment I will evaluate my own academic and employability skills for hotel and Hospitality Industry.Hotel sector is an important sector which comprise services like accommodation, food and beverage, etc.The analysis of my strength and weakness of skill will be done with the help of SWOT analysis which is appropriate approach for skill audit.Further, I will prepare Personal Development Plan (PDP) to focus on my lacking skills and to gain insight over my current business skills.The PDP plan will help me in setting deadlines and outlining activities which I need to focus on for updating my academic and employability skills. Presently, in my opinion I feel I have good control over my skill’s social interaction, self- confidence, verbal communication and decision-making. According toRai and Thapa, 2018, employability skills are the transferable skills which is required by an individual and reflects employable ability of the person. The skills comprise emotional intelligence, team working, negotiation, problem solving, communication, etc. These skills are not job specific and when seeking for job it is important for the individual to focus on improving employability skills because employersare willing to teach someone the job-specific skills and not basic soft skills which considered before hiring. As per the view ofAssiter, 2017,there are different types of employment skills like: Personal qualities of a person which comprise individual ability to socialize, self-control and confidence on own decisions. Communication category which comprise skills like, attentiveness, active listening, written communication and interpersonal skill. Teamworkingcategoryofemployabilityskillsconsistofcollaboration,conflict management, reliability and management of expectations. Coetzeeand Fourie, 2017, stated about soft skills requirement in modern era which has become specific to category like ethics, team working and communication. In accordance with this employment skills of person should comprise, integrity, empathy, collaboration, verbal and written communication and deductive and inductive reasoning ability. Current job market is focused on employability skills like, self-management, learning, technology, leadership, time management, logical reasoning, persuasion, motivation, etc. As per the views of ____, academic

Searching and evaluation:I am the one who is very good at sourcing the information from the internal and external environment and always find it comfortable to evaluate the data in the organization favour. Team working:I am very good at working in a team dynamic as I am good at problem solving which helps me and my team in improving the efficiency of work. Wish to develop employability and academic skills Communicationskill:Iamgoodatoralcommunicationbutfinddifficultyinwritten communication, so I am trying to improve it so that I can communicate comfortability with senior authority. Presentation skill:As I find difficulties in written communication it proves difficult for me in presenting the data, I want to improve my presenting skills so that my view point can be understood comfortably. Upgraded skills:I need to understand the new and innovative way of serving in the industry which has been brought by the technology change. Persuasion:I need to develop this skill so that I can transfer my point of view comfortably and can influence the work of the employee in correct direction.
SWOT As per authorRai and Thapa, 2018,Self-audit helps to identify own strengths and weaknesses. According toCoetzee and Fourie, 2017,SWOT analysis is a tool that will help to identify own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Strengths –Strengths are the positive things that helps to get employment in an organization for example- employment in a hotel. Scheduling is my biggest strength as I used to schedule all my work with the time bounding them which helps me to have a good time for evolution before submitting the work. Innovation and creativity is my strength, as I am good at problem solving it always helps me in bringing good innovative idea in the organization. Breaking down of the work is another strength of mine as I am able to manage the resource I always break down the work do that my subordinate can have a clarity of mind. Understanding the big and complex data is one of my good strength as I am able to evaluate the data in a correct direction Weaknesses —Weaknesses are the negative things that will act as a barrier in getting job in a firm at a particular post. Individual should use own strengths to overcome weaknesses. Always Found difficulty in passing on my view points to the senior as I find it difficult in written communication. Lack of Knowledge of a new technique always creates a burden on me to complete the work efficiently. I always found it difficult to influence the work of other in the team dynamic has I am not able to lead them from example. Opportunities —Opportunities are the external factors, if individual grabs the opportunity on right time it will help to get better employment opportunities. I have a good opportunity to develop my presentation skills as I am going to attend seminar and conference of same which will include the training program which will help me in improving same. I also have opportunity to develop my leadership skills as I will get opportunity to lead team in absence of Senior team leader.
Threats —Threats are also external factors that will negatively impact the chances to getting employment in an organization. I always feel threat from the other people who are having higher knowledge and skills. Personal development plan.
