INTRODUCTION A career action plan is a road map that guides an individual from choosing a profession to landing a job or advancing their career in a certain region or field. This will assist a person in achieving their career objectives. A person's aptitude for introspection and eagerness to learn more about their own nature and purpose is known as self-reflection(Delauzun, A., 2020).As a result, it is linked to the philosophy of consciousness and the theme of awareness, as well as the philosophy of mind. Self-reflection allows a person to consider, assess, mediate, and seriously consider their attitudes, behaviours, motives, thoughts, and desires. The following will be based on a personal assessment of strengths and opportunities for improvement. It will also create a career action plan to strengthen or build critical abilities in a certain field, such as retail. Finally, a CV and profile will be created. TASK Personal Analysis Personal analysis entails assessing my current abilities and shortcomings, as well as opportunities and dangers. It is critical to determine one's own talents and competences, which necessitates the use of a SWOT analysis. It is a model that assists in determining one's own skills and weaknesses, as well as guiding one toward achieving goals in the near future. I've learned and studied several marketing courses in order to advance my profession in the retail industry, and I've gained knowledge, concepts, skills, and much more. I recently had the opportunity to work for Marks & Spencer, a leading retailer(Homsey, B.O., 2021). Its company has expanded to include food, houses, and other domestic products. I have determined that several important talents must be developed or improved in order for me to carry out my task and job as a marketing employee. The following is an expanded discussion: Communicationskill-ThisisstrengthformeasIamcapabletoexchange information and thoughts with other people. This skill helps me in field of marketing as there is requirement to formulate suitable marketing plans and campaigns for future growth which requires effective communication skill. I must communicate with a variety of people, including consumers, co-workers, customer service personnel, and others. the having of communication skill can help in resolving conflicts leading to growth in marketing. Interpersonal skills-I am good in this skill which isopportunityfor me asit requires the understanding of needs and requirements of other people in order to develop
career in marketing field. It requires the interaction and communication with others. this skill helps me in building relationship and develop trust(Mattingly, A.N. and et.al., 2020). Teamwork skills- I am lacking in this skill which isweaknessfor me as teamwork requires to work in group together with other members. Each member has different opinion which may result to conflict. I am not able to organise the work effectively in group for which I need to work more upon this to improve. Presentation skills-This skill isstrengthfor me as I have knowledge of presentation which is needed in the filed of marketing. The effective presentation skill helps me to present information in effective way regarding the product and services. I have knowledge of using pictures in presentation to make it more attractive. IT skills-This skill isthreatfor me as i am lacking in this skill by not having knowledge of technical skills, software etc. The It skill requires the understanding of security, system and networks, data analysis, machine leraning etc. It defines to the technical skills which is necessary to work wiythin technical support, maintenance. I need to develop this skill in field of marketing as several techniques in terms of CRM and other software is needed for success(Mayombe, C., 2021). Technical skills-This skill is alsothreat and weaknessfor me as i am enough good in this skill to work upon and requires proper knowledge of tools and softwares. It is set of abilities or knowledge which is needed to perform pratical tasks in several areas of technology, arts etc. There is use of certain tool & technologies in technical skills. Career Action Plan The career action plan is defined as dynamic document which people own and manage intended to reflect their increased career development leraning. The developimng of this plan helps in setting goals, action required to achieve these goalsand commit to participating in planned activities. It lists the professional goals and steps to achieve them. As I discussed in the earlier part, being a marketing manager at the chosen company has both advantages and disadvantages. I will build an action plan for my career that will help me grow in crucial areas of marketing in order to do my job more effectively.
