INTRODUCTION Career viewpoint enables an individual to take various actions throughout their lifetime with the aim of being successful in their career. A career consists of the job possessed by a person, title they have earned, work that they accomplish in a certain period(Godward, Dale and Smith, 2019). On the basis of research conducted in CW1 it was identified that retail sector is growing tremendously and if offers a lot of opportunity in the marketing field for the graduates on different levels. With the help of this retailers can better understand the customer buying behaviour and in this graduated students having well versed knowledge if technology can facilitate them in the same. For executing the role of marketing person various skills that will be required includes problem solving ability, commercial awareness, writing and creative skills. Along with this significant knowledge of formulating various marketing strategy is also required. In this report various skills and knowledge of an individual along with their strengths and weaknesses will be discussed. Also career action plan will be formulated that can help in efficiently achieving the job goals and objectives. PERSONAL ANALYSIS For performing various roles it is important that an individual have various skills and knowledge as with the help of this they can efficiently perform their role. The skills reflect the strengths of a person with the help of which they can perform their role. As the opportunity in the retail sector are high and it reflects that marketing field will offers various job opportunity as with this the customer buying behaviour can be managed(Duboust and Knight, 2018). For undertaking that role it is important for me to analyse the skills, knowledge and abilities that I have and which I have to develop. The language known to me includes English, Italian and Spanish with the help of which the need of local people can easily be understood interaction can be made. Along with this I possesses better communication skills which I gained by participating in various activities such as extracurricular activities organised at university level and while working in the team in different environment such as in undertaking research where interaction
with the customers need to be done. Along with this my organisational skills will enable me to perform better which I developed as a team leader in my last job profile and also I was able to develop enthusiastic team worker that contribute a lot. In addition to this I have an understanding of the concept of food allergy and its impact as I had to consider all such factors of the inventoried food, ingredients while preparing the vendor orders and maintaining the stock level. Apart from all this I have significant knowledge of the requirement of the hospitality industry as they use to procure stock from the organisation I used to work with. But for meeting the requirement of the emerging retail industry I have to develop various skills which are required to perform the marketing role efficiently. Such skills includes problem solving skills, strong attention is required on the details, commercial awareness is must along with ability to formulate various strategies such as promotional strategy, pricing strategy etc. With the help of this analysis I could make an analysis that I have ability to efficiently interact with the customers and to manage the teams but for dealing with various issues I need to gather various skills. For developing such skills I need to focus upon personal development plan so that such skills can be developed and the opportunity in the retail industry for marketing profile can easily be availed (Autin, 2018). CAREER ACTION PLAN For developing various skills the career development plan will be formulated which will facilitate in CAREER ACTION PLAN GOAL:To develop various skills such as problem solving skills, strong attention, commercial awareness, formation of various strategies etc. with the help of which role in the marketing field can be executed properly such as it will enable in determining the needs of the customers, identifying the opportunities that are present in the market, understanding the buying behaviour of the customers and dealing with various problems with better understanding of the strategies and customer behaviour.
