INTRODUCTION
Career plan is refer to a roadmap which is undertaken by a person form selecting an
occupation to obtaining a job and level up his career in respective field. It will help an individual
in reaching their selected career goals (Ballaro, Mazzi and Holland, 2020). The Self-reflection
enables people to think about themselves, evaluate, mediate on and offer the serious thoughts to
their attitudes, motivations, behaviours, desires and thoughts. This report will be based on the
personal analysis to measure the strengths and areas for development. this will also include a
career action plan for improving or developing key skills within chosen industry i.e. marketing
industry. At last , CV and LinkedIn profile will also be produce.
Personal Analysis
As I want to make my career within the marketing industry, for this, I have to study
different marketing courses so that I can become able to gain more knowledge skill and
information about the marketing field. I have got a chance to work within is most popular
marketing company that is Mark and Spencer. Respective company has diversified it business into
various segment including food, clothing, home ware product and many more (Bharti and
Rangnekar, 2019).It is identified by me that I need to develop few skill within in me as it will be
helpful for me in carrying out my work and job role as a marketing employees. Therefore, my
personal analysis is explained below:
Strength
Creativity skill- When think about the marketing then creativity is frequently first thing
which spring to mind (Caputo, Fregonese, and Langher, 2020). Creativity skill is my
another strength as I have creativity solutions to the business problems or issues and new
ways of communication with my customer. I am capable to generate the ideas very well
and also able to put these ideas into the action in order to deliver effective outcome. It help
me to develop the new ideas for the promotions and campaigns. The idea generation act as
a catalyst for company's marketing department to attain an enhancement in success,
involvement and product sales.
Communication skill- As in marketing communication skill is very significant, so I have
an excellent commination skill as I am able to sell the product in market very well because

of my effective communication skill. This skill help in moving the product, service and
ideas from the manufacturer to finals consumer and also build a relationship with my
customer. My good communication skill help me to put my though and ideas in to words
due to which I can convenience the customer easily to buy the products. Thus by having
skill, I can perform better in marketing field.
Adaptability skill- It is most significant quality that I company look when selecting an
employee. Organisation need such employee which can adopt the changing marketing
condition and customer behaviour (Holbrook, 2018). I Am a very adoptable person as I
willing to learn the new things, make adjustment in order to suit the transitions at
workplace and also take the challenges in order to improve my efficiency. In marketing
industry I can adjust myself which the customer changing taste and preference and also
understand the changing situation in market place. So I am a suitable candidate in
marketing industry with this skill.
Area of the development
There are certain area in which I nee to pay more attention and improve them to work
effectively in chosen industry.
Attention to detail- This mean to carry out the given task in hand thoroughly and with an
accuracy, working with a consistent high quality and also avoid any sloppy mistakes
(Mattila, Salminen and Astahova, 2019). As in marketing every employee mus that the
ability to pay attention on details. As a marketer the work is seen by the many eyes
whether it is social media graphic, post and piece of the promotional material. Therefore, I
am lacking in this skill as I am not capable to pay focus on every small things. This weak
skill of attention to detail make me less effective at workplace, decreasing my productivity
and also increasing likelihood of errors because the attention to details and work quality
are frequently linked.
Interpersonal skill- For a marketer, strong interpersonal skill is very essential. It is very
critical for the marketing professional responsible to interact with the customer in order to
develop a positive customer service at all the stages of sale. This is another skill in which I
need improvement. I am lacking in interpersonal skill due to which it is doubtful whether I
will be able to create an effective interaction with customer or client. Due to this weak

interpersonal skill I am not able to work well in a team formally or informally. Sometime it
create a conflict that may impact my career.
Technical skill- It is most significant skill than ever as with this skill are responsible to
show their audience that what the company has to offer and why customer should buy their
product. It is major lacking area in which I need to develop myself. I m have not enough
knowledge about the technical thing that need by be to perform any specific task. I am
lacking in the programming language, utilisation of the mechanical equipment and other
tool. As technology is upgrading on daily basis due to which I need to learn that how to
use such technology so that I can perform in the marketing field.
Career Action Plan
It is an individualised plan a person use to identify his career goals and define the steps
essentially to pursue such goals (Super, 2020). From the above analysis I have identified about my
strength and weakness of being a marketing manager within chosen firm. Therefore, in order to
does my job role efficiently in need to create an action plan that help me to grow my career by
improving the lacking areas.
