Leading for creativity: The street signage for lights,
colour and entertainment
1. Introduction
When we talk about creativity and design with lots of entertainment and music and
light, we talk about Vivid Sydney. Vivid Sydney takes place in and around the city between
25th May and 14th June and it offers the most attractive live concerts with dozens of light
installations, live music performance and the opportunity to show the best talent
(Vividsydney.com 2019). The aim of this blog is to critically analyse this event supporting it
with the viewpoints of various authors along with a number of theories related to the even
designing. The idea is to make a clear presentation as how an event is designed and the
important factors that play a vital role in the success of the event.

2. Short description of your case study event
Vivid Sydney is festival held every year in Sydney that promotes creativity among the
participants and the visitors. The event takes place for 3 hours in the evening that is mind
blending and adventurous view of lights and colours. The participants of the event also offer
workshops and trail classes to the visitors who are interested to give explore their creative
side as well (Vividsydney.com 2019). There is no longer-duration boardroom discussion
when it comes to selecting the colour, design or the innovative idea behind the presentation,
all it needed is the passion for live action and the creativity to portray your thoughts and
imagination. The event also draws attention of the creative minds to make the famous places
creative with lights and colour. The event draws attention of event designers from far and
beyond who have their share of critiques or comments on the success of the event. Apart
from this, Vivid Sydney is also the target of numerous movie makers who find it a great plot

to be made popular to people around the globe. The Asians and the Europeans are the most

3. Overview of theory relating to the design of events:
An important event of a country has equal impact on the socio-economic and cultural
factors of a country and the people. As the city sparkles in light, it attracts more and more
advertisers to make it a platform to sell their product to the visitors. This year, Samsung used
the opportunity of this festival and came up with the idea of going vivid with colours. The
theme used by the company brought out the inner child of the visitors and gave them a touch
of their childhood. This way Vivid Sydney opened up the opportunity of various people to
visit the event for a particular reason. If socio-culturally considered, it has been pointed out
by Brown and James (2012), that a major event organised in a country or city gives both
tangible and intangible benefits for the communities and the visitors. An interest point has
