The Case Study titled as “Apple Inc.’s Ethical Success and Challenges” is initiated
with a historical background of the company. Herein the varied organizational developments
and hindrances under the CEOs are discussed. This is followed by the overview of the
corporate culture followed by the organization. The company prides on having a corporate
culture and prioritizes the concerns of the employees to maintain a healthy work
environment. The ethics followed by the company are aligned with benefitting the employees
and customers. The company provides certain codes of business as well as surveys to gain a
clear overview of the varied operations of the firm and whether they are aligned with the
ethical culture followed by the organization. The next section comprises of the varied ethical
issues that the company has encountered. Such issues range from privacy issues to price
fixing, sustainability, theft of intellectual property, supply chain management issues and such
others (Clarke and Boersma 2017). The case study is concluded with an overview of the
future developments within the purview of the corporation. The key ethical issues of the
company can be identified as the breach of personal data and the issues in the supply chain
management. The company has a reputation of following certain unconventional methods of
business and thereby often gets involved in ethical issues (Martin 2015). In order to maintain
the performance and productivity levels of the company, the interests of the customers and
the stakeholders, the company adheres to the fixed ethical culture and thereby promote
innovation and development of the organization.

The philosophies and the organizational culture of the Apple Inc. are different in
nature from many other companies, and have distinct influences on the ethical decisions of
the corporation. In order to analyze such influences it is essential to understand the
philosophies inculcated within the corporation and the culture followed by the company.
Apple has initiated the production process with the aim of providing the customers with the
enhanced levels of technology and hence steer innovation within the organization to fulfil the
expectations of the customers. The second focus of the firm lies in the understanding of the
varied needs of the company accurately in order to eliminate the unimportant opportunities.
The third philosophy rigorously followed by the company is to provide the customers with
the best product in the market so as to create a benchmark in the global market. The company
follows a corporate culture wherein the aims of the employees are aligned with the goals of
the company and is also rooted in the company’s strategies and approaches.
The fact that Apple provides a secure, separate and unique operating system that
enhances the experiences of the customers and thereby provides optimum data security,
portrays the ethical side of the company. This has been influenced by the philosophies of
Apple. With the perspective of providing the customers with the best experience with their
products, the company also maintains data authenticity, which further contributes in the
ethical decisions made by the company in this regard.

The competition in the global market of mobile phone manufacturing companies are
high due to the varied substitutes available in the market and the threat of new entrants in the
industry. There are several reasons behind the competitive nature of Apple ranging from the
brand equity, premium pricing, financial performance, innovation, customer loyalty and so
