Introduction
Online web services are necessary to manage business functions and data
as well. It is a common process in most of the enterprises to manage their
business and applications using technology, such as Microservices
Architecture (MA). The Department of Spatial Information (DSI) is a
common department for sharing data and information to other
departments. In addition, it will be beneficial for the company to manage
all the processes using advance technology and security (Atchison, 2018).
Online Spatial Delivery System (OSDS) has used for managing web
services and applications in different government departments.
Moreover, this report will discuss about the role of cloud-based services
including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). It will explain the impact of
IaaS in the DSI and its business processes. MA is a good solution of such
types of issues in a firm. To do so, this report will provide advantages and
disadvantages of IaaS in the DSI.
Features of OSD system
OSD system will improve the basic processes of a system including data
and other resources. The department has used on-premises services
including servers and data centres, which has required large amount of
the maintenance cost and implementation cost. Moreover, scalability is
more tough for the DSI (Bakshi, 2017). The DSI has shared large amount
of data to other departments for their other processes. Therefore, the DIS
has used data centres for data collection and management. DSI has
provided better services in different situation including heavy load and
high demands of web services and applications. In addition, the other
departments have required uploading and downloading for data transfer
from the DSI. The data has used for various purposes. Thus, it should be
secure from different types of cybercrimes and cyber-attack. Besides, a
new system has required to manage new project of the DSI, which is
suitable for accessing large amount of data from various processes
