Introduction:
The aim of this report is to analyse to case studies and a micro-credentials. In this report,
two case studies will be analysed which are ‘Sir Richard Branson: managing groups and teams at
Virgin’ and ‘Planning and strategic management at Coca-Cola’. The way Sir Richard Branson
manages the group of team of Virgin will be discussed in this report. The way the authority of
Coca-Cola develops its strategic plan will be discussed in this report. Emotional intelligence as a
micro-credential will be analysed in this report. To enhance the popularity of a LinkedIn profile
will be analysed in this report.
Case study 1:
Teamwork is essential for a business organisation to utilise opportunities and manage
challenges. In the 1970s the virgin group was established by Sir Richard Charles Nicholas
Branson, a British businessman. Several companies in different fields are controlled by the
Virgin group. By analysing the case study it will be easy to understand several types of teams
and its rules to enhance the effectiveness of a business organisation. For this organisation, every
team plays a significant role. The Virgin Group of Companies controls several small and large
groups who have the responsibility to act within their companies (Kinicki 2015). The senior team
of this organisation includes the CEO's, executive and senior managers, associated with the
business. To increase the brand value and make decisions about capital Investments, this senior
team of the Virgin Group of Companies plays an important role. Another important team of this
organisation is the ‘work teams'. To accomplish specific objectives of this business organisation
the walk teams has to ensure collective working (Kinicki 2015). This team has a responsibility to
enhance the efficiency of the team and a high level of communication between the teams.

Another important team of this organisation is the 'self-managed team'. Without any external
supervision, the ‘self-managed team' analyses the internal factors which contain feedback and
supervision. Sir Richard Branson is successful to delete the virgin group of companies with his
unique leadership style. He has the ability to influence and create a common idea for his
employees. According to Sir Richard Branson, a leader has to earn leadership from his
subordinate employees. By earning respect from the team members, a leader can lead the team
efficiently. To manage the teams and groups, Sir Richard Branson relies on the idea of equality,
fairness, non-hierarchical structure and equal treatment for every employee. By using the
transformational approach, Sir Richard Branson manages the teams of the Virgin Group of
Companies (Kinicki 2015). He emphasises on individualistic strategy. Sir Richard grandson
prioritises a friendly work atmosphere which will help the employees who exist and improve
relationships. It can help this organisation to achieve shared objectives effortlessly. Br creating a
conflict-free workplace, this organisation motivates the employee and enhance freedom. This
initiative helps the employees to enhance team bonding. Freedom and social interaction among
employees are prioritised by this organisation to increase team bonding. The authority
organisation believes that the performance of a team can create a positive impact on job
satisfaction and communication. Feedback and recognition of the performance and behaviour of
the team member are evaluated in this organisation. The success of a business organisation can
be disrupted due to the conflict among team members. That is the reason Sir Richard Branson
has developed a conflict-free workplace for the employee. It will help this organisation to
improve communication and team bonding (Kinicki 2015). So it can be said that Richard
Branson is successful to manage challenges and utilise opportunities by using teams and groups.
Virgin Group of Companies has been using its teams and groups to achieve shared objectives.
