b) Factors that contribute to the process of research project selection
Interest of researcher- It is one of the crucial factor that helps in contributing to the
process of research project selection. Thus, it identifies the interest of the researcher and
thus they analyze the interest of researcher in the particular topic i.e. employee
motivation and its effect on encouragement of workers and thus enhance their
productivity and performance (Conaty and Charan, 2011). Here, interest of researcher has
been identified and thus they carry out the study upon particular topic and assess
motivation level of workers.
Scope of research- Further, limited study has been carried out upon this topic and thus it
has high scope to be carried out upon particular research so that employee motivation and
its effect upon employee productivity and performance have been identified. There are
very limited researches have been carried out upon this topic and therefore, researcher
selects this topic in order to improve the research area (De Roeck and et.al., 2014).

workers such as decreasing sales, low morale of workers, competition in market, low skilled
workers etc. All such factors need to be identified by the manager of organization and then
provide them motivation so that their skills could be improved and thus they are encouraged in
order to improve efficiency and attain business goals.
According to the opinion of (Eckerson, 2010) management of hotel aims to identify the

Needs of employee motivation
As per the view of (Longenecker and et. al., 2013) organization is required to undertake
effective ways of encouraging employees so that they could be motivated to attain desired
results. Individual needs to be motivated because it would help them to enhance their
performance and thus raise productivity of business as well. HR team of firm needs to identify
the requirements of employee motivation and thus encourages them to perform the assigned task
so that set results could be attained. However, (Dessler, 2014) argued that management of firm
should improve their motivational techniques which would help them to identify the expectation
of employees and thus provide them particular ways so that it encourages workers and attain

employee motivation and provides them particular motivators so that performance of firm could
be increased up to a great extent. With the help of identifying the needs of workers it helps them
to encourage and achieve desired results within firm.
Factors that motivate workers
(Mathis and John, 2014) stated that there are different factors that encourage workers and
thus minimize employee attrition rate from firm. Business aims to identify the real causes of
employee attrition and thus provide them appropriate motivation factors so that current
performance of employees could be increased. There are different factors that encourages
workers which are as follows-
Communication- As per the view of (Noe and et.al., 2013) management need to carry out
two way communication so that it helps managers to identify the needs of workers and
thus encourage them to work hard to attain desired results.
Challenging and exciting work- Further, it is another factor that encourages the workers
and thus gives them challenging and exciting work so that they accomplish the task in an
effective way. However, (Torrington and et.al., 2015) argued that providing challenging
and exciting work helps in motivating workforce so that best results can be attained.
Recognition and reward for performance- It is another factor that encourages workers
through providing recognition and reward for their performance so that set results can be
attained. Through encouraging it helps firm to raise their productivity and performance in
market.
Making job better- As per the view of (Jonathan, 2010) management needs to make the
job better so that it assists in encouraging workers and thus help them to perform their job
and thus enhance their performance as well as productivity of firm in market.

factor and it is essential for firm to improve its performance in market. Through encouraging
workers it helps in enhancing business outcomes and thus performing the job better which results
in attaining desired results. However, adopting different motivation factors assists in improving
employees performance so that they are able to attain organization outcomes. Thus, HR team of
firm needs to improve employee’s performance by providing them various motivational
techniques such as financial and non financial rewards and thus improves business outcomes.
However, (De Roeck and et.al., 2014) argued that improving employee’s encouragement and

TASK 2 IMPLEMENTING THE RESEARCH PROJECT
a) Research methodology Samples: In the current research work sample of 10 respondents is taken. All ten
respondents are the managers at the Hilton hotel. Questionnaire is distributed among the
respondents in order to collect data. There are number of sampling methods that are used
in the research. Some of the commonly known sampling methods are simple random,
stratified and cluster sampling method. In the current research simple random sampling
method is used and under this on discretion randomly sample units are taken from the
population (Jung, 2014). Some other sampling methods are stratified sampling under
which entire population is divided in to varied parts on the basis of demographic factors
and from same sample units are taken in the research. Cluster sampling is the another
method under which also geographic area is divided in to multiple parts and from same
sample units are taken in the research.
Through such way it helps in attaining business outcomes and thus attains success. Motivation
factors are considered as one of the crucial factor and thus it helps them to perform the assigned
task and achieve business outcomes. Motivation is also considered as crucial factor that assists in

Data collection methods: As part of data collection method there are number of methods
that can be used in the current research. In the current research questionnaire is
distributed among 10 respondents. All 10 respondents are manager at Hilton hotel. Data
is collected through questionnaire after collection of same obtained answers is analyzed
to identify the errors that exist in the obtained result. Primary research is carried out
through questionnaire. In order to develop broad understanding about research topic
secondary data is analyzed. Secondary data is collected from the books, journals and
magazines. It can be said that secondary data is analyzed in better way. In this way entire
data is collected for carrying out entire research work. Data analysis method: In order to analyze the data thematic analysis method is used in
the current research report. Under this method, data that is collected by distributing
questionnaire (Faraday, 2012). The results for each question in terms of variables are
classified and on the basis of same charting are done in the report. It can be said that
primary data is analyzed in best way and way in which different response received are
analyzed in better manner. In order to analyze secondary data literature is reviewed. In
this way entire data that is collected in the research is analyzed in systematic manner. Ethical consideration: There are number of ethical issues that are associated with the
research. As part of ethics it is ensured that data collected from the respondents will be
safe and will remain inaccessible to the unauthorized person. Literature from reliable
sources is analyzed in proper manner. It is ensured that secondary data is only taken from
the reliable sources. Many times it happened that unreliable information are available on
literatures (Nieboer, 2013). Thus, there is a probability that research may be carried out in
wrong manner if secondary information from unreliable source will be analyzed. It can be
said that all ethical issues are taken in to consideration and research is carried out in
systematic way. Research limitation: There are some limitations of the current research. One of the main
limitations of the current research is that sample size is very small. Sample of only 10
respondents is taken in the current research. It can be said that sample of very small size
is taken in the current research (Hamilton, 2012). However, it is not matter of concern
because sample units that are taken in the current research are highly reliable. Hence, data
