INTRODUCTION Change management is defined as the well structured procedure of dealing with any change or transformation of technologies, goals or processes. In simple words, it can be defined as the modes and ways in which the business organisation explains and apply some change within the external as well as internal processes. Bringing change in the business operations is a function which is being managed by the change management(Aljunaibi, A., 2019). Members of change management have to follow the structured process for the purpose of implementing the changes in the organisation. This report is based on the given case study of Barnacle Bay Country House Hotel. This report includes the theories and strategies of change management, planned and unplanned changes along with the organisation development approach. In addition to this, it also deals with the key areas of organisational and individual resistance to change faced by Rita as a HR manager of organisation. TASK Impact of unplanned and emergent changes on the Hotel Unplanned Changes:These changes refers to the alterations which have not seen earlier as the need of change. These changes do not have any particular intention of solving any issue or problem in the organisation. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, several of sudden changes have been take place which also result in the lack of resources as well. Several of changes have been also implemented by Barnacle Hotel because of COVID-19 pandemic such as improvement in the standard of cleanliness in order to ensuring the health and safety of employees as well as guests. Hotel has also provided masks, gloves, in-house testing facilities to the employees and guest for the purpose of keeping them safe. The effect of COVID-19 pandemic can easily be seen on Barnacle Hotel. On the other hand, this hotel has also require to face the competition from Peacock hall which is specially working for providing the health spa, leisure spa along with the high-tech conference services(Andreasen and Gammelgaard 2018). In order to develop the effective consumer base and market share, Barnacle Bay Country House Hotel adopted various changes in their services by getting finance from bank. Barnacle Bay Country House Hotel has bring many changes because of Brexit. It was the situation of withdrawal of United Kingdom from European Union which bring several of political changes. Its impact on the hotel can easily be analysed because the employees of hotel were working from Europe on the basis of live-in (Galli, B.J., 2018). The management of Barnacle Bay Country House Hotel had decided to hire skilled and experienced human resource and training manager for the purpose of recruiting local employees for hotel. Below mentioned are the factors which shoes the impact of emergent changes on Barnacle Bay Country House Hotel: The performance and functions of Barnacle Bay Country House Hotel have been effected by Brexit because the workers of Europe have left their jobs and go back to their country. Due to the lack of experienced and talented staff members, the performance of hotel goes downward. For the same purpose they should provide the proper training to their employees so that they can enhance their morale as well as performance. Hilton hotel has appointed the new HR and training manager in order to implementing the necessary changes without damaging the morale of staff members of organization. 9
