1.2.1 Critically evaluate change management models
There are basically three kinds of change management models. This are as follows McKinsey
7-s model, Lewin’s change management model, and kotter’s 8 step change model. The Lewins change
management model is divided into three stages that includes transition, unfreeze and refreeze.
McKinsey 7-S model includes 7 factors that are used for operating the change this influences are
shared values, structures, strategy, systems, style, staff and skills. The major benefits offered includes
proper diagnosis towards the organization (Uhl and Gollenia 2016). The third model is Kotter’s 8
that includes basically 8 phases that are aggregated the urgency for chance, construction a team that is
faithful towards the change and includes producing the idea for change. After this the communication
for change is an important factor, creation of short term goals, staying determined towards making the
permanent change. This steps will help in managing the transition with the organization.
1.2.2 Apply relevant model(s) to effectively manage substantial change in a
select area of own organisation
The organization Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust that works for the Trauma
division needs to manage their division. This is mainly concerned with the health facilities of the
people around the country. The management model that will help the organization in expanding its
work is the Kotter’s 8 step change model. This was basically developed with the aim of need for
urgent changes within the organization (Bryson 2018). This will help in bringing the substantial
change by following the 8 steps that are involved in this change model. The steps that will help in
changing the area are as follows:
 Increases the determination for change
 Constructing a team that will be committed towards the change
 Building vision for change

 Empowering staff with the ability to change the area

1.3.1 Review own organisations strategies and plans and support further
development of these
The strategies that are associated with the organization includes identifying the surplus land for
disposal. The organization aims at providing healthcare services thus it is important to value the
health care facilities at a high rate. It is important to address proper strategy so that each measures
can be solved properly (Leigh and Blakely 2016). The strategy plan includes proper management of
the employees by providing facilities at correct time. This also includes reviewing the needs of the
patients at correct time. Each and every patient within the organization needs to be taken care properly
so that they can be treated in a correct manner.
1.4.1 Develop operational plan to include realistic, measurable targets and
key performance indicators
The organization should ensure proper operational plan. This plan includes development of
strategy that includes tasks and responsibilities by addressing the goals and objectives. The
plan includes clear objectives, quality standards, proper risk management plan, implementing
timetables and includes staffing and managing the resources requirements (Yang 2016).
Apart from this risk management plan will help in understanding the issues related to
operating management. The key performance indicator needs to be understood properly so
that they can understand the targets of the organization.

1.4.2 Demonstrate effective delivery of operational plan
An effective operational plan includes determining the objectives, understanding the quality
standards, including proper key performance indicators and key targets. Apart from this an
effective operational plan also includes risk management plan. The result of operational plan
includes assessment of every components within the organization. The organization
component includes proper assessment of each and every realistic components (Fahimnia et
al. 2017). The key indicators are also being analysed properly is that they can address the
demand of organization and aims at providing better services towards the customers.
Effective delivery operational plan will help in providing proper and efficient services
towards the customer.
1.4.3 Identify and manage appropriate resources to deliver plan
The major components that are important to deliver a plan includes development of a
strategic plan. This also includes managing the essential resources such as staffs, time, proper
delivery, adequate, allowing proper staff management for addressing all the customers. This
resources will help the organization in delivering the plan successfully. As the organization is
related to the healthcare the need for managing the resources properly becomes an important
aspect. For managing the resources appropriately it becomes important to plan the strategy
first that taking a systematic approach will help in organizing the aspects (Harrison and Lock
2017). After this the organization needs to use technology at the places where it is possible
and finally using resource management software will help in delivering the plan successfully.

1.4.4 Accurately monitor and measure outcomes and evaluate results
The outcome of the project is to satisfy the need of the customer. This includes providing
proper facility towards the customer and should allow the organization to understand the
requirement of the particular department. The trauma department of the organization Hull and
East Yorkshire NHS Trust had ensured that each objective is being fulfilled by the end of the
plan (Rossi, Lipse and Henry 2018). The plan execution includes addressing the needs of
patient at time and facilitating each staffs with proper values and opportunities in their
carriers. The organization was able to meet all the requirements efficiently.
1.5.1 Construct a range of detailed management reports and analyse and
interpret these
Management reports are the source of business intelligence that helps the business heads in
making accurate and appropriate decision for their data driven program. Proper management
report includes defining the project purpose that will help in addressing the goals and purpose
of the project. Secondly the report should be able to analyse the need of targeted audience
(Borgatti, Everett and Johnson 2018). Apart from this the report needs to create a table of
contents so that the requirement can be met according to the table and finally the report needs
to be developed after discussing with the supervisor. So that they can implement changes if
needed.
1.6.1 Deliver successful outcomes demonstrating the effective use of wide
support from a range of sources.

Effective outcomes are needed to be addressed properly this will help in the development of
the project plan in a correct manner. It is important to conduct proper researches so that the

development time. In addition to this, the sources needs to be properly identified and credited
so that they can ensure proper support towards the project.
2.1.1 Analyse the key stages of a project and demonstrate the application of

The main key stages of project includes initiation, planning, execution and closure. Apart
from this the project also includes a fifth phase that is the monitoring phase. This five phases
are important for proper development of a project. The execution phase related to the project
is the longest one as this involves consumption of maximum energy and resources for
developing the project in a completed manner. This five phases helps in analysing the project
properly and helps in meeting the demand of the project. The execution starts after analysing
the requirements related to project.
2.2.1 Evaluate risk management models and risk versus benefit
Risk management model includes systematic process of determining and analysing the risk
associated with the project. The risk management model is divided into a number of different
processes that includes five stages and also includes identification of the risk, risk analysis
and qualitative analysis of the project. The different type of risk management models are

The method that is related to monitoring the risk includes identifying the risks at the first
stage, analysing the risk and evaluating the risk based on the priority. Apart from this it is
important to treat the risk and monitor as per the need of the system. Mitigating the identified
risk becomes an essential factor so that the project plan can be done as per the need of the
customers. In order to monitor the risk it is important to assess the risk at first stage and then
implementing proper measures that will help in controlling the situation. The last stage
includes providing support after facing the incident.

The effective planning process will help the organization in understanding the project
objective properly. However it is observed that the project has been able to meet all the

In order to determine the key project out comes it is important to focus entirely on the
outcomes. Outcomes are basically referred to the events, occurrence of a behaviour that will
determine the project gaols. This measures the benefits that are achieved from the project.
Project outcomes includes focusing on the components that are prepared at the time of
execution. Performance outcome is measured with a management tool for the purpose of
clarifying the goals, documenting the contribution that is made toward accomplishing those
goals, and documents that will provide benefits for organizing the programs and the services
towards clients.
2.4.2 Monitor progress towards the achievement of project outcomes and
produce reports that clearly demonstrate this
Monitoring the project plan includes tracking the moving parts of the project. This involves
multiple team members for handling different aspects of the project at same time. The
organization needs to monitor all the elements that includes proper budgeting, scope of the
plan, scheduling the resources and completing the task within the given time (Fleming and
Koppelman 2016). Accuracy will help in managing the timeline of the problems and will also
determine the benefits that are obtained at each step of the execution. This monitoring
progress includes clarifying the expectations, setting regular monitoring intervals, choosing
an appropriate way of collecting the data and adjusting the expectations.

The risk management project needs to include proper analysis of the risk at the correct time,
managing the attitude and principle that will help in mitigating the risks (Sharp, Peters and
Howard 2017). The risk management model is used with the purpose of managing the risk
and controlling the measures that are processed within the company. The occurrence of the
risk needs to be identified properly is that they can be mitigated within the correct time. The
four steps that are included in a risk management plan are as follows:
 Identifying the risks or hazards
 Assessing the risks
 Controlling the risks
 Treating the risk
 Reviewing the risk control procedures
2.6.1 Initiate, lead and drive change within a specific area of own
organisation, identifying barriers/ challenges and presenting strategies to
overcome these
The lead and drive change within the department of trauma section will help in mitigating the
risks and challenges that are faced while working with this department. The major risk is
inappropriate behaviour of the staffs and unorganized equipment’s. Lead and drive change
will help in focusing on the behaviour and will help to implement proper values that will be
beneficial towards the organization. this also includes investing on proper skills so that

desired skills can be obtained within the department apart from this the environment at the
working place needs to be maintained properly so that no error occurs at the time of treating
the customers.
2.7.1 Demonstrate the successful use of project management tools.
The project management tools that are used for the purpose of effective project planning
includes network diagrams, Gantt chart, work breakdown structure and programme
evaluation and review technique. This tools will help in proper development of the project.
The reason behind using this project management tools is that it helps in the time of plan
execution and also helps in controlling all the aspects related to the project management
process (Kerzner 2017). Organization basically relies on the tools for developing their
projects effectively and ensures that each tasks are performed within the given time and
within the decided budget. Apart from this staff workload also helps in managing the optimal
time required for the organization in developing the project.
