INTRODUCTION
Child care is also known as early childhood education and care. Basically this industry is
developed for the children aged up to 5 years along with the care of primary school age children.
In Australia, options of child care have been analysed which include home based care, centre
based care, family day care, business related crèches and outside school hours care. Any family
can select any care on the basis of their own circumstances and values. This report is based on
the child care industry. This report include the brief discussion on legal and ethical
considerations for reviewing and improving the practices of an individual, modes and processes
of professional reflection, professional development opportunity, principles and technique. In
addition to this, it also include types of work method for improving performance along with the
learning style.
TASK 1
Workplace task
As I have chosen the job role of Child Care. I have to attend to the basic needs of
children, such as dressing, feeding, and overseeing play. I am responsible for helping the
younger children preparing them for kindergarten or assist older children with homework. Below
mentioned are some of my duties which I have to perform during my job:
Childcare workers typically do the following:
Supervise and monitor the safety of children
Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
Help children keep good hygiene
Change the diapers of infants and toddlers
Organize activities or implement a curriculum that allows children to learn about the
world and explore their interests
Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity,
rest, and playtime
Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential
problems to the attention of parents or guardians.
