According to the WHO, dementia has been considered as a disease of collective terms
which affects the memory and other psychological abilities which interferes with the individual’s
ability to do the daily life activities (Livingston et al., 2017).
Types of residents
The Blue Care facility considers every person living their life suffering from dementia as
a different and unique individual. The Blue Care facility is specialized in dementia care. Majority
of the residents in the facility are the elderly people who have dementia and similar related
conditions. The Blue Care facility has a full secured dementia care department. The facility
contains 72 beds (Bluecare, 2020).
Models of care
The Blue Care facility provides with individual packages that aids patients suffering from
dementia to have a healthy life and safely in their respective residential places, retaining their
liberation and providing prospects to mix with their community. The Blue Care facility also
supports the family members of the patient with dementia to retain abilities, continue with their
hobbies and entertainments, and will also help them to try new activities. The members of the
facility also give suggestions, teachings and connection with carer’s support groups (Bluecare,
2020).
Staffing
The Blue care is a team comprising of management, administration, nursing and allied
health staff, personal carer’s, hospitality and maintenance, chaplaincy and volunteers. All the
