List any policies, procedures, requirements, guidelines and codes that a workplace organisation
should have in place.
The laws that are applicable in workplace of Australia are as follows:
Fair Work Act, 2009: This law shows the relationship between employer and employee.
It is vital that all the employees are given fair work by taking care of national standards
(Employment law in Australia, 2021). This law applicable to all the size of business
organisation.
State And Federal Anti-Discrimination Laws: As per the law no employee must be
discriminated on any ground. Each and every person working in organisation must be
given equal opportunity to work.
Disability Discrimination Act, 1992: This law is specially formulated by government to
safeguard the disables. It is seen that there is discrimination faced by people because of
their disability. So, it is formulated to abolish discrimination (Bowles and et.al., 2020).
Work Health And Safety Act, 2011: This law takes care about the health and safety of
employees in the organisation. All the people that are associated with the organisation are
protected with this Act.
The policies and procedures that must be followed by an organisation are as follows:
There must be proper code of conduct that focuses on employees and all rights related to
them.
There must be proper communication in the organisation (Wong, 2021). Each and every
employee must be given right to speak and give their points while decision making.
The company must have their recruitment policy. Training and development is important
part of an organisation so there must be provisions made for effective training that will
help in development of employees.
A policy related to use of mobile phones is also important and should be included in
every organisation.
A policy related to use non-use of drugs and alcohol in organisation should also be part of
the policies.
There must be anti-discrimination policy as well as harassment policy.
