Provisional Title of Your Dissertation.
Cobit 5 as a mechanism for it governance a case study
Describe the topic(s) or issue(s) you wish to investigate for your Dissertation.
These must relate to the subjects that comprise your programme of study, and must
clearly indicate what your aims /objectives / research questions will be.
Aim:
To document the value and process captured in program’s early stages and the
work for using the strategy of COBIT 5 as a tool of strategy implementation.
Hypothesis
The work for using the tool of strategy implementation of COBIT 5 goes on in keeping up
with the ten-year horizon of S22 (ISACA, 2018). For every initiative, the review of the
first governance has taken place. The progress of the other phases would continue and
achievable outcomes were expected to be followed. Measures would be established for
gauging achievement against the aims and monitoring and controlling would be
maintained.
Analysis
There is no question regarding the people working for the initiatives of S22 that the
usage of COBIT 5 has helped in achieving a more productive result to date (Nwosu,
2016). An in-depth analysis of every initiative has been sparked due to the follow-up that
is required by beginning with defining the stakeholders, their requirements and their
drivers, then proceeding to explain the actual and expected states. An achievement of
more profound and in-depth understanding of the issues has been enabled so that they
are addressed in the best manner, which is opposite to jogging out the obvious and easy
solutions so that one more task can be checked in the list. The in-depth layers of
dependency among the initiatives have been surfaced by COBIT 5, hence forcing a
holistic planning approach rather than an isolated one. It has now become clear that
problems can only be dealt as parts of the whole and the same cannot be dealt with
based on a piecemeal (ISACA, 2018).
Characteristics
The four initial phases of the COBIT 5 provides guidance for the procedure of project
framing along with the relevant scope and set the expectations on accountabilities, cost
and time (Nwosu, 2016). Once the execution is initiated, it would be vital for ensuring
that a good management process of project change is set in place for controlling the
creep of scope, cost and time.
