Introduction
Communication is an important aspect that allows people to communicate their ideas
with each other effectively. A charity event can be defined as an event whose main
aim is to generate funds for a particular cause or charity. There are different types of
charitable events that are conducted for different causes like charities for educational
purposes, health, human services, art, culture etc. A charity event should always
specify the objectives and the cause that it supports.

A charitable event is an event whose
primary purpose is to generate funds in
order to support a particular charitable
idea. The charitable project idea for this
presentation is to host a cancer charity
event. This will be done in order to
generate awareness about cancer among
people and raise funds for cancer patients.

Reason behind choosing charitable cause
Charitable events play an important role for a particular charity cause as they help
in raising awareness among people. The reason why we particularly chose cancer
as a charitable cause was because it will attract the participation of a lot of people.
This way, we will be able to raise funds for the cancer patients who are not able to
afford the treatment for the same. And since, the number of participants will be
more, the donations raised will also be more. We will sell the tickets at affordable
rates so that people would not mind paying for the same.

How the event will work
A charity event basically serves two major
purposes which include raising awareness as
well as funds for a particular cause. People
are willing to support a cause if they know
that it is for the benefit of other people. The
event that we are organising will involve
different people who will help us in
conducting the event successfully.

Charitable cause would be of value to
management
Charity begins with the identification and recognition of a need to show concern and
belongingness to members of society. In the following ways society get value from this
charitable cause project -
•Direct value to the people in receipt of charitable services
•Wider value to members of the society who donate to charities
•Wider value to society
•spreading knowledge among the people

In the following ways management get value from this charitable cause project –
• Value to members who act as volunteers for charity event – Charitable work
brings long lasting benefits to volunteers, mainly in the form of enhanced well-being
and health benefits. The work they are performing is more valuable as they are
contributing to society more then management and their personal interest.
• Value to the investors of the project – This event will provide value to investors in
terms for well-being for society and will help in increasing their market presence that
is goodwill.

Conclusion
From the presentation, it can be concluded that
fundraising events can not only help in
generating awareness among people, but also
allow various non-profit organizations as well
as charitable trusts to raise funds for different
charitable causes.

• I worked on the project with the help and support of many volunteers as well as
my friends. I organized a charitable event for the cause of cancer for the first time.
•Our team wanted to raise awareness among people about the signs and symptoms.
Before hosting the event, I referred to various sources in order to get an
understanding of how a charitable event works and what are the costs associated
with it.
