INTRODUCTION
Communication in health and social care is the most important aspect to understand the
different needs and requirement of the people. The report consist of different issues regarding
communication. It can be the process of commination which can be influence by values and
cultures factors. Power of structure system and plan of action in promoting good practices. The
proper suggestion to improve the communication process and Role of legislation, character and
code of practises impact on communicating procedure in health and social care.
2.1. Explain how the communication process is influenced by values and cultural factors.
The most important aspect in any sector is the communication which make the better
understanding. But due to the culture and values are the two main factors that will influence the
communicating process in any organisations. In health and social care it is the most important
aspect to bring the effective communications (Antheunis, Tates and Nieboer, 2013). The values
and culture will influence the communication in following manner:
Culture: it refers as the set behaviour pattern of the people in society which can be identified on
certain system such as beliefs, language, customs which will influence on the people in terns if
the communications. Because in the health sector every groups will associated which have the
different culture but the system will be implemented on the basis of set format and which will
impact on the people who are not familiarise with the customs.
Values: The major problems will be created on the health and social care communication process
from the values of the people are contradicting. If the proper values will be considered for
communication process in Hospital make the adverse impact on the society.
2.2 Legislation, charters and codes of practice impact on the communication process in health
and social care
In the process of communication, there is different type of legislation or code that has to
be followed by the firms so that they are able to perform the set of business operations in
effective manner. In this context, below given are the legislations in the process of

Equality act 2010: In accordance with this act, it is the social control of health care render
to make sure that they deliver equal care to all the patients. there are cases in which extra care

needs to be provided to patients and so it requires to have proper consideration made so that they
are able to understand the issues can care can be delivered.
Data protection act: All the information that is provided by patients should not be shared
with any one. It is important that for the firm to make use of a system in which all personal
information are saved. Further, the professional who is involved should not disclose the
information that is provided by patient until patient does not allows to do so (Glasby and
Dickinson, 2014.).
Care act 2014: Appropriate and proper services should be delivered to care receivers in
health and social care. All type of equipment needs to be provided to care providers so that they
are able to deliver high and better quality services to patients. In this process, care providers
should also be trained so that they can make use of it effective manner.
Human right act 1999: There are certain right that are provided to people and in which it
includes proper information to be delivered to patients. Further, they should be conveyed about
the different type of treatments that can be done for the health related issue that are faced by
them.

communication
There is various type of procedure that is followed by the business so that there are
healthy communications. In this below given are the organizational systems for communication:
Sharing of information: The information that is delivered by patients should not be
disclosed to any one until patient allows it to be conveyed to others. Main focus for considering
this system is for developing trust and confidence among patients. They understand that services
delivered to them are highly effective and the problem will be resolved (Cameron, Lart, Bostock
and Coomber, 2014.).
Documents: It is important for the health and social care to develop documents of the
patient in which all the information regarding the health condition are included. When these are
done, then it becomes favourable enough to for the care providers to understand the main health
problem and the medications that are provided to them.
Records: All the patients who have received services should be recorded. In case they
come again for getting services for their health issues, then professional are able to understand

the problems that they were facing previously. Further, it is also done so that they are able to
develop strong relation with patients.
2.4 Ways of improving the communication process in a health and social care setting
Within organization, requires to have effective communicating so that employees have
strong communication with each other. So as to improve the communicating procedure in health
and social care, below given are the steps that can be considered:
Ethical: All the personal information of the patient should be maintained ethically. Apart
from this, interest of the patients should be maintained (Bowling, 2014.). Appropriate methods or
techniques should be used so that the personal information can be protected. When these are
done, then it becomes helpful for the patient to develop trust and confidence.
Discrimination: All the patients should be treated equally and they should not be
discriminated. All the care providers need to be delivered with proper training and development
so that they understand the set of roles and responsibilities that has to be played by them.
Data protection: Information delivered by patients should be conveyed to any one. It
consists of law that has to be precede by health and social care so that they are able to develop
trust and confidence (Mechanic, McAlpine and Rochefort, 2013). More specifically, sections 1 to
6 should be followed by the wellness and social care.
