functionality and the features of Oracle and Manhattan associates. The involvement of the IT
products in these two organizations will be also discussed in the paper. The products of the two
organizations which provides them a competitive advantage over the other will be also discussed
in this paper.
Oracle Corporation is an American multinational computer technology organization
which develops and distributes software and hardware products which are very much useful to
manage the supply chain management of different organizations. Predictions about the future of
the supply chain management are provided by this organization, cloud engineered systems are
build and sold by the Oracle Corporation. The management if the information and the application
of the supply chain management is possible with the help of the services provided by Oracle.
Established in the year 1990, Manhattan Associates develops different categories of
management systems which are useful to management the supply chain of different types of
business organizations (Laudon & Laudon, 2015). The software produced by the Manhattan
Associate was beneficial for locating, verifying and shipping and packaging of the stocks. They
provide their services in different types of business.
2 Product and service of Oracle for supply chain management
Oracle database is the most striking feature of the Oracle Corporation, along with that the
different categories of management systems such as the customer relationship management
system, enterprise resource management system and human resource management are also the
products of this organization which are effectively used in the supply chain management.

developed in this corporation. This business organization provides hardware such as the Oracle
SPARC T-series servers, Exalogic elastic cloud, Oracle Big data appliance which are very much
helpful in the management of the supply chains of business environment (Oracle, 2019). Services
such as the Oracle cloud which provides facilities such as the SaaS which are helpful to find the
validation of the software which are used to manage the supply chain management software.
3 Product and service of Manhattan Associates for supply chain management
The supply chain solutions which are responsible for the management of the supply
chains are the Supply Chain Intelligence (SCI), Supply Chain Event Management, Supply Chain
Visibility and Supplier Enablement, Enterprise Order Management and inventory solutions such
as the vendor managed inventories are the prime products and service offered by Manhattan
Associates for the supply chain management (Manhattan Associates Home, 2019). The
integration of the products offered by the Manhattan associate is much simpler than the products
offered by Oracle Corporation, there is no real compatibility issue with the existing legacy
systems.
4 Comparison between the products and service
The products which are developed and implemented by these two organizations similar in
their working principles. The inbound receiving and the put ways of the business are managed
with the help of the supply chain software which are developed by these organizations. The
solutions provided by Manhattan regarding the supply chain management are much more robust

Corporation. The flexibility offered by the Manhattan solutions is much more the Oracle

However, the management systems offered by the Oracle corporation such as the
transport management system and warehouse management system and supplier relationship
management systems cover most of the business aspects of the supply chain management
system. The warehouses system provided by the Manhattan associates lacks the cloud
deployment action which are there in all the management systems provided by the Oracle
Corporation.
The implementation of the software developed by Oracle Corporation are much easier as
compared with the software developed by the Manhattan Associates. Incomplete information is
not assessed by the software developed in the Manhattan Associate where as the software
developed in the working environment of Oracle Corporation can assess any categories of
information. The complexities of the software developed in the Manhattan Associate requires
experienced professionals whereas the user guidance document is very much helpful for any
kinds of issues associated with the software developed in Oracle Corporation. The customer
service department of the Oracle Corporation is much more effective and professional compared
with the Manhattan Associate. The source codes of the software's are given to the clients by the
Manhattan Associate whereas the sources codes are not provided to the clients by Oracle
Corporation.

products and services offered by the two organizations. The orders which are placed by the
consumers of business organizations can be managed with the help of the professional products
such as the Enterprise order management offered the Manhattan Associates, whereas the data
about the management of the supply chains can be stored, managed, edited with the help of the
such as the exalogic cloud are done by Oracle (Neubert, Ouzrout & Bouras, 2018). The exalogic
cloud of Oracle helps in bringing reliability and consistency to a business. The investments of the
supply chain network can be managed with the help of this product which is developed in the
Oracle laboratories. The automated processes of the supply chains are managed with the help of
this software.
