Introduction
The hospitality industry includes wide fields of providing the service and facilities
that involve the food and drink service, theme parks, transportation etc. The industry
consists of restaurants, bars and hotels. Hospitality management is an important aspect
for the customers and economy related to customer satisfaction and customer retention
through which it maximises long term profitability and creates a brand image (Doan and et.
al., 2021). The hospitality industry taken is Hilton Black Pool established by Conrad
Nicholson Hilton on 31st May 1919. The Hilton, Black pool targets business and leisure
travellers by providing various amenities and facilities to the customers such as bar, fitness
centre, air-conditions, rooms with free WI-FI. It is situated in Blackpool, 1.2km from
Blackpool south beach. It also provides parking facilities with extra charge. To the guest, it
offers continental, English and Irish breakfast.

Managerial challenges in hospitality sector
Managing the hospitality sector is not an easy task as it is a growing sector with
technological advancements. Various challenges faced by the sector to remain competitive
in the economy.
Change in customer expectations
Causes: The challenge faced by the Hilton, Black pool was due to the change in the
technologies customers expectations are raising as they look for friendly, consistent
services in the environment of the hotels. Modern customers are becoming global
travellers which include corporate, families and millennial. The expectations include the
connected experience and proactive services. With the change in environment, the
demands are changing of the customers of the Hilton, Black pool (Suess and et. al., 2017).
Effects: The effect on the hotel as they were the low attraction of customers which
decreased their growth and sale.
Changing labour conditions
Causes: The Hilton, Black pool faces the problem of labour and human resource involving
union issues, increasing health care costs. Due to the change in demographics factors
such as low population, few persons in working age group traditional labour force is
decreasing. An increase in the cost of healthcare increases the expensive for Hilton, Black
pool in hiring and retaining employees (GlińskaNeweś and et. al., 2020).
Effects: The effect on the hotel was low retention of staff as it required trained staff which
increases the cost of training and consumes a lot of time and money if acquired new staff.
