Project Description
The proposal presents the blueprint of the intended study which is going to be conducted on the
identification of the factors impacting employee satisfaction at the workplace to the context of
Walmart UK. Employee satisfaction is a significant aspect which signifies the degree to which an
employee remains satisfied with his or her work in an organisation. The research will be conducted
with the aim of identifying the drivers of actors impacting employee satisfaction at the workplace.
The case study of Walmart UK will be analysed in the proposed study.
Background
Employee satisfaction is one of the most important aspects which impacts the productivity and
performance of a business organisation to a great extent. Human resources are the important human
capital of the business. It has been observed that the problem of employee turnover gets enhanced in
the retail sector because of many reasons for which lack of employee satisfaction is one of the key
reasons.
Core Literature
In the opinion of Zameer and et.al. (2018), employee satisfaction is highly important as it improves
the overall performance and productivity of the business organisations. Satisfied employees are found
to be more productive and enthusiastic. According to Suri and Petchsawang (2018), a business
organisation should always be responsive to increasing employee satisfaction. It is also important to
keep the employees motivated so that they can increase their satisfaction levels (Suri & Petchsawang,
2018). According to Alefari and et.al. (2018), employee retention is one of the important aspects
which is directly related to employee satisfaction. Satisfied employees are more likely to retain in
their organisations for a long tenure (Alefari, et.al., 2018). In the view of Ghazi, Shahzada, & Khan
(2013), an organisation should analyse Herzberg’s Two Factor theory to understand the major hygiene
factors and motivating factors on motivators which influence employee job satisfaction to a large
extent (Ghazi, et al., 2013).

Aim and objectives
The main aim of the intended study is to identify the key factors which influence employee
satisfaction at the workplace. The proposed study will be conducted on one of the leading
organisations on the international platform, Walmart UK. The organisation has been facing the
challenge of employee turnover and poor employee satisfaction in the last few years.
Objectives
 To identify and analyse the major drivers of employee satisfaction at the workplace.
 To identify the key factors which influence employee satisfaction at the workplace of
Walmart UK.
 To come up with some of the important recommendations.
Methodology and Data Resources
The proposed study will be conducted with the support of the descriptive research method. Both
primary and secondary data will be collected for the analysis. Primary data will be collected from a
survey which will be conducted with the help of a questionnaire. The survey will be conducted on 50
employees of one of the branches of Walmart UK. Both qualitative and quantitative methods of
research will be used.

Data Collection Approach

Primary data will be collected from a survey which will be conducted with the help of a questionnaire.
Secondary data analysis will be conducted on the resources to be gathered from journals, books, and
online articles.
Data Analysis Approach / Method
The qualitative research approach will be implemented for the analysis of secondary data. The
primary data will be analysed by use of quantitative method of research with the help of charts and
supporting discussions. Microsoft Excel will be used to generate the charts.
Ethical Considerations
The research will be taking care of the ethical aspects of research. The participants of the survey will
be asked for their consent in participating. Confidentiality will be well-retained. The secondary data
will be gathered from various copyright sources. The sources will be reliable and valid.
