The case study that have been chosen for performing proper implementation of consumer
behavior theory is that the of failed business management attempt of Topshop in Australia. One
of the major issue of failure is that Topshop had expanded in a rapid growth that is not even
rightful in nature. Within the time span of a year, there were a total of 17 concession outlets. The
total number of employees working in these shops were a total of 760. There are several issues
that have led to failure of the organization, however, it can be stated that the price of the products
have been much higher than that of the rivals. The rivals that were present in the operational
process are namely H&M, Uniqlo and Zara. It can be seen that the brands are heavily advertised
and celebrated brands. Hence having a price higher than that of he celebrated brands with fewer
stock have been considered as one of the major reason of failure.
Implement of the Consumer Behavior Theory: The Consumer Behavior Theory that can
be implemented in the process is namely Marshallian Economic consumer behavior theory. As
per the theory, the cost of the product is needed to be set low. This will be increasing the sales of
the brand. However the pricing of the products of Topshop have been very high and this was
one of the major reason that the sales of the organization have been very low. Again according to
the theory, one of the major aspect that is considered is that the cost of the substitute products
