TITLE: “Examining the impact of organic and natural products on consumer preferences”
: A case study on cosmetic industry.
CHAPTER 1:- INTRODUCTION
1.1 Overview.
In today's world, every organisation conduct research before they make any step in
market, although a better strategy and decision help industry to attain their goals and objectives
in proper manner. For cosmetic companies it is required to identify the impact of organic and
natural product on preferences of customers (Zhu and Zhang, 2010). Moreover, cosmetic
industry does look forward to attract the customer towards organic products which will not harm
anyone. Research has shown that, many people face problems and issues with cosmetic products
and for everyone Body Shop chain is providing healthy and organic product which will not harm
anyone. Industries do try to change the preferences of customers towards organic products and
they want to earn higher profits too.
1.2 Background.
Research is mainly conduct to obtain needed information to make proper decision and
strategies which also help company to attain their goals and objectives within the time period
too. Moreover, examining is done to gather information related to gather information for organic
and natural product on various consumer preferences. This is a main motto of industry to find out
and to obtain relevant information and working on these can make them to accomplish higher
profit as well. Even though various harmful products are there in market which has impact on
customer body and for such criteria organic product are available that does not harm human body
and they are natural in nature which is implemented by various customers and consumers are
satisfied as well with organic product.
1.3 Significance.
There is a main objective behind conducting research is that many products are there
which harm skin of people which does not provide satisfaction to consumers. Hence, for their
satisfaction cosmetic industry has produced organic and natural product which does not harm in

any manner to customers too (Papadopoulos and Heslop, 2014). Industry wanted to change the
preferences of consumer from high priced products to organic one which also can satisfy people
in proper manner too. For such, it was required to determine the impact of natural product on
consumer preferences.
1.4 Aims and objectives.
Aim: To determine the impact of organic and natural products on consumer preferences”: A
case study on cosmetic industry.
Objective:
In order to analyse the impact of organic products on industry performance.
To ascertain influence of natural items on consumer preferences.
How does ethical practise of environment with cosmetic industry which influence the
purchase decision?
To identify the barriers faced by industry while introducing user- friendly goods.
1.5 Research questions.
Elaborate the impact of organic product on industry performance ?
Identify the changes in consumer preferences due to natural cosmetic items ?
Identify the ethical practise of environment in purchase decision?
What are the barriers which encounter by beauty industry while introducing user friendly
product ?
1.6 Gantt chart.
It is such which help in making a accurate schedule of whole project and this help in
accomplishing task at every aspect (Zhang and et. al., 2010). Generally, this is something which
can show the corrective manner and thus it is required to complete the whole project on desired
time frame too. Moreover, it also shows the starting and ending date of project which can help in
completing activity on time in perfect way which does consider required terms and conditions
too. Although manager is that which divide the work in different department to have a smooth
working and functioning as well so that importance of project and its objective can also be
attained. Although this is something which has various benefits and some of those are as follows:
Communication: Proper communication among every employee and department makes them to
work in better manner according to their responsibility which help them to have an effective

completion of activity. Time management: Produce a better time schedule which can help in
having a association team and also manage various activities as well (Martinez, 2010).
Coordination: In an organisation every employee and department should work as one which
bring coordination and motivation to have an proper performance which also manipulate staff to
accomplish their target and objectives too. Understanding: The Gantt chart is that which
provide clear information that which task has to be complete in how many dates which does
make light on some activities. Thus, it helped researcher to know full information and it makes
clear to them as what they have to perform too.

2.1 Impact of organic items on industry performance
According to Kontogeorgos Achilleas, better quality of organic products also increases
the sales growth which does consider the better sales margins as well. Moreover, key thing
which leads to defining the quality in consumers and firm internal thing which does also reflect
customers requirement too (Wang, Yu and Wei, 2012). There is a huge impact on organic
product on cosmetic industry as because, many customer are rationale in nature and they require
proper satisfaction from product for which they are paying and thus organic items does not harm
to skin and also prevent people from having skin diseases which mainly attract the large number
of portion from population. Industry is being performing in great way as useful item is also
making them to attain their goals and objectives too. The company does make an target
segmentation in which they mainly focus in perfect way and for thus the main customers are of
age in between 15 to 45 who uses cosmetic products. Its on industry how they manipulate
mindset of people from inorganic to organic material as well. A great company is normally build
on the basis of great products, although according to such the cosmetic industry perform in
market and provide useful items to millions of people which also help in providing the
satisfaction to their customer too. Industry performance is totally dependent on getting attracted
