INTRODUCTION Hospitality industry is one of the developing industry which has received millions of visitors evert year due to which it has generating large number of revenues as well as employment opportunities. It contributes maximum support in the growth of an economy of country due to which get maximum support by the government. Hospitality sector includes different forms of business such as Restaurants, Hotels, Motels. Catering, Bars etc. There are more than 180000 hospitality companies which facilitates local as well as foreign visitors through providing quality hospitality products and services. The present assignment report is basedonhospitalitybusinesswhichconsistsvariousformsofbusinesssuchasHotels, restaurants, catering, bars etc. The project covers the organisational structure, current scale, scope and diversity of hospitality industry, staffing requirements along with their roles and responsibilities(Bharwani and Butt, 2012). TASK 1 1.1: Analyse the current scale, scope and diversity of the hospitality industry In today's world, hospitality sector contributes maximum support in the wealth of country through generating large number of employment opportunities to the local people which makes positive impact on their standard of living. It has been identified from statistics of hospitality industry in UK that there are approx. 2440583 people were employed in hospitality industry of UK in the year 2010. There are different forms of business involves in hospitality sector such as accommodation, transportations, bars and pubs, restaurants etc. in which large employees are employed. There are various current businesses which are given as below: Hospitality services:It is one of the fast growing business which facilitates other businesses as from hotel to restaurants to generate huge revenues every year. They are engaged in offering multiple number of facilities and services so as to maximise the satisfaction level of local as well as foreign tourists. Such kinds of facilities includes luxury rooms, foods and beverages, catering services, security of safety of visitors etc. Hospitality industry has segmented the market on the basis of their needs and requirements and accordingly makes plans to fulfil them in an effective and efficient manner(Brotherton, 2012). It may includes travel, health care, education, corporate hospitality, sports events, concerts and DJ and many more according to which plans has been made. Hilton Hotel & Resort is hospitality company of UK which deals in 1
offering multiple number of services to the visitors comes across from different countries. Their services includes luxury accommodation, transportations, foods and beverages and many more in order to maximise the travelling experiences of their guests. Ownership:There are mainly four types of ownership which are operating business in an effective and efficient manner. It includes privately owned, franchise, lease and managed etc. Hilton Hotel & Resort has operated over 570 hotels in more than 85 countries. These are operated by either owned, franchised and managed by the independent operators by Hilton(CG Davidson, McPhail and Barry, 2011). Impact of economy:Hospitality industry contributes maximum supports in the growth of an economy through generating maximum number of employment opportunities and earn huge revenueswhichincreasesthetreasuryofgovernmentofcountry.Infigures,theyhave contributes more than 101 billion which was 6.7% of total GDP in the UK. Diversity:Hospitality industry has diversify its services and facilities into different areas which as accommodation facilities, foods and beverages, transportation and many more to maximise the satisfaction level of their guests. Food and services management:It is another form of business which are engaged in providing different types of products which includes food items, drinks and other services. Under this, hotel and restaurants are there which are facilitating customers by providing them such food and catering related services. Therefore, such business play an important role in maximising the experience of visitors. It has generated large number of employment opportunities. McDonald's is a perfect example of such business. Ownership:In this type of business, ownership is considered as privately owned, franchise agreement or contracts, self operated etc. McDonald has franchise type of ownership due to operating food restaurant at global level. Impact of economy:It provides valuable support to the hospitality business in the growth of GDP by providing food related services to the visitors whenever they want or requires at their own place. In figures, McDonald has contributed approx. 40 billion to the UK economy which is huge in figures(Cooper, 2012). Diversity:In such type of organisation, multiple number of food products and beverages are to sold at marketplace. The production process and tastes always remains same in different market. For example, McDonald is offering Hamburgers, French Fries, Soft drinks etc. 2

An organisation having systematic and well designed organisational structure lead success in business operations and functions. Flow of information and transactions are also improved with the help of effective organisational structure. Flat structure:It is mostly used by every organisation in order to create democratic and healthy environment at workplace. In this structure, the roles and responsibilities, work criteria, authorities and channel of communication which are more helpful elements of every hospitality business(Hoque, 2013). The structure of an organisation changes according to the size, scope and work criteria. The effectiveness of organisational structure easily attracts an organisation to divides its work and staff so as to achieve its desired goals and objectives within pre-determined time period. Matrix structure:It is such a structure which includes autocratic and democratic leadership due to which a healthy atmosphere at workplace are established. It is used to maintain health relation among the staff thus used by Local authorities and social service organisations use this organisational structure. British Hospitality association:It is non-government representative body incorporating the restaurant association (RA) for hotels, clubs, restaurants, leisure outlets and other hospitality business located at UK. It has formulated legal laws and legislations which need to be comply by hospitality business in order to operate business in more effective and efficient manner. It facilitates to contribute in export earnings and create competitive advantages for the UK. Spring boards UK:According to such legislation, it can be observed that hospitality industry provides various benefits to the country and society as a whole due to: Generating large number of employment opportunities. Making strong presence of country in hospitality business world.Providing professional supports in an appropriate manner. Chartered institution of securities and investment:It is a global professional body which provides financial help to the business contributing maximum to the growth of GDP of country. Therefore, the hospitality companies such as TUI, Thomas cook etc. can able to operate its business in more effective and efficient manner which indirectly increases the good image of country among world's nations(Jones and et. al., 2016). TASK 2 2.1: Assess staffing requirements of different hospitality business The requirement of staff depends on the size and structure of an organisation. If an organisation operated at large scale, then it will requires large workforce whereas if operated at small scale then small workforce will be required.For example, Five star hotel requires large number of personnel as they are providing multiple number of services as compared to other hotels. Thus, it requires large amount of workforce which assist them in providing their valuable hospitality services. With having more staff, the hotel should required toinvest more money in conduction of training programs so that their staff can deal with the guest in more effective and efficient manner. Apart from this, two or three star hotel doesn't needed much staff due to small scale operations. They are recruited staff on the basis of skills and requirements of an organisation. The other reason are the revenue of the hotel due to which they are not much capable to afford to hire more staff. Adding extra amenities and services within an organisation such as for saloon they need to recruit hair specialist, for spa they required to hire professionals masseuse etc. 5

For this, staff members are recruited in an organisation on the basis of their qualifications and allocating them roles and responsibilities so as to facilitate guests in more satisfied manner. Having skilled and experienced staff ensure organisation about availability of services and control over operations so that the interest and behaviour of their guest may not affected in adverse manner. There are some roles, responsibilities and qualifications which are essentially required to consider in order to give valuable services to the customers. Such are given as below: HR manager: It is the job position which requires to perform different roles and responsibilities related with recruiting and managing the activities of human resources working in an organisation. For example, HR manager of Hilton Hotel & Resorts are liable to recruit and work on enhancing the performance level of staff members(Legrand, Chen and Sloan, 2013). Qualification: Requirement of having degree of PGDM or MBA in Human Resource Management. Should have at-least 2 years of experience in HR job position.Ability to bring motivation among workers to perform better. Roles and responsibilities: Fulfilling the requirement of human resources through Recruiting skilled and experiences candidates for right job position. Dealing with guests coming from different backgrounds and countries in more effective manner. Conducting motivational programs to increase the performance level of employees. Marketing manager: It is the job position at which an individual need to perform marketing related functions such as adopting promotional tools which includes Advertisement on TV, Social media etc. so as to attract visitors to get hospitality services of their their company. 6
Qualification: Must required to have degree of MBA in marketing and have adequate knowledge about the marketing and sales.Should have at-least 3 years of experience in marketing field. Roles and responsibilities: Conducting research on regular basis in order to identify the current trends in hospitality industries. TASK 3& TASK 4 Covered in PPT CONCLUSION It has been concluded from the above project report that Hospitality sector in groing more rapidly through maximising the satisfaction level of customers and fulfilling their needs ansd requirements. For this, organisations such as BHA andSpring boards UK act as a development bodies which assist hospitality industry in better way.
