INTRODUCTION
All organizations face contemporary issues in human resource management because of the
dynamic environment(Holland, 2019). HR managers faces emerging issues at the time of sudden
change in technology and also faces issues at the time of globalization. There are also Diversity
and Harmony issues which are faced by HR.
Tesco is one of the largest retailer chain of UK. Tesco's aim is to fulfil their customers needs in a
better way and provide the best quality products to customers to attract them. The organization
also faces contemporary issues like there are many competitors who use same techniques which
Tesco use. So, this is very big challenge for Tesco to maintain the monopoly.
This report will discuss the problem and challenges faced by HRM and also discussed the
emerging trends in Human Resource. In this report, Job description and person specification is
also designed for a supervisory position. The approaches of performance management and
employee development is also highlighted in the report along with the varieties and types of the
information and communication in HR practices.

Issues and challenges faced by HRM
In this dynamic business world, there are numerous issues faced by Human resource
management of Tesco. The emerging issues of HRM in Tesco are discussed below :
Globalization :
Globalization increasing due to decrease intensity level of competition. Due to raising
economic process in UK has led to variety hiring where the manager's concentration on
recruiting people from various culture, background etc. This procedure is advantageous for apply
creativity in services but on the other it raises chances of battle, misdirection of work etc. (Hans,
Fernandes and Crasta, 2019). Globalization has become HRM issue for Tesco, because the firm
has to emphasize on training staff in order to develop formal relation to encourage work
effectiveness. Ethnical differences is the biggest challenge which come across to HR manager
with increasing globalization and multinational organization.
Issues due to Technical Advancement:

Advancement in technology is another HR issue which is faced by Tesco which has
increase the need of training because of frequently changing technology. It is important for the
retail merchant to make employees aware about proper use of technology and give some
training. Thus, some other problem arise with advancement is high fixing cost, increasing
laziness between employees and impact of work place professional relationships(Dutta, 2018.).
Nevertheless, implementing use of technology cut down working knowledge of employees and
also involves high cost maintenance.
Environmental Changes :
Changing environment is also issue which creates problem in business operations. In
Tesco, it comes with various individual, organizational and environmental challenges(Singh,
2019.). The duty of HRM is to assure the company has complied with all the rules and
regulations with regard to employees and communicating workers about all the modifications
which are done in policies and plans is compulsory. The common issue faced by HR of Tesco is
changing employees policies as per changing standards like, health and safety, worker
compensation, etc.
Equality and diversity:
Promoting equality and flexibilty in retail market is the biggest challenge in HRM. In
this, the person faces issue in coordinating and cooperating with employees all together. It
creates the situation which raise the chance of struggle between workers that affect productivity
of working (Hans, Fernandes, and Crasta, 2019.). People from other culture have different style
of working and different languages which makes difficultly for HR, in establishing
communication among workers. Challenging changes in cultural difference is the issue which is
complex and makes hard for HR to manage effectiveness of professional relationship among
employees.
Four Challenges faced in HRM:
Change management:
Tesco's HR team faces significant change management challenges. In Change
management, the company changes its strategies, structures and some employees as well as
departments which affects the existing employees badly(Brunetto and beattie, 2020.). The
company takes this challenge in positive way and motivate their employees to implement this
change in the organization.
