1. Introduction
Tourism is one of the main pillars of international trade, plays an
important role in the economies of many countries around the world and
is an important source of income for many developing countries

However, tourism development in the current context is greatly

constantly change to adapt and meet the needs of tourism in the new
situation. In Vietnam, Cat Ba archipelago is considered an impressive
tourist destination with many unique landscapes and ecosystems.
Therefore, Cat Ba Island has increasingly become a trend of
tourism combined with relaxation of tourists in recent years.
The author, with such a view of the general context, through this
report, makes some judgments about tourism trends, opportunities,
marketing objectives and tourism potentials of Cat Ba Island. The
comments come from the reality of tourists' needs, activities of
providing tourism products and services of tourism companies and units,
along with immediate priority policies of tourists.

According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the
number of international tourists needed in 2018 exceeded 1.4 billion, an

It is forecasted that by 2030, tourists traveling for the purpose of
visiting, health and religion will account for 31% of the total number of
tourists; for the purpose of sightseeing, convalescence, entertainment

purposes accounting for 15%.
In fact, the tourism industry is witnessing the development of
many other tourism trends such as self-designed tours, adventure
tourism, experiential travel, leisure travel with modern equipment, etc.
