INTRODUCTION
The pandemic has occurred in whole world which has created the problems
for business sectors to operate and regulate their business in such environment.
Due to pandemic many people were passing and many of them suffering from
diseases. To have good knowledge about market and trend is need to for business
industries as it supports to bring changes in existing performance (Secinaro, Calandra,
and Biancone, 2020). It has seen that due to pandemic travel and tourism industry
being affected negatively and created challenges to overcome the issues. To know
about impact of covid, TUI Group has been selected that is British retail
department, offering different types of services to their business. The report
involves aims, objectives, literature review, and methodology.
Research Aims and Objectives
Aims: “To identify the impacts of pandemic over performance of retail
industry.” A case study of TUI Retail.
Objectives:
To determine the period of pandemic.
To identify the impacts of Covid-19 on performance of TUI Retail.
To determine the different suggestions could be used to operate their
business regularly.
Research questions

What are the impacts of Covid-19 on performance of TUI Retail.

Research problem
The current research is about impacts of pandemic over organizational
performance is effective which used to develop understanding and supports to
complete the work accordingly. The problem attached with the topic is to gain
understanding about covid affected business performance, and how to collect the
information. The researcher will develop their knowledge about topic which
supported to provide right suggestions to helps to maintain higher productivity.
The problem is use of new technology to operate their business in changing
environment that affects the productivity (Sultana, Islam, and Islam, 2020). The
researcher will face the challenge of lack of resources and capital to conduct
analysis and data properly.
Literature Review
To determine the period of pandemic.
According to (Vo, and Tran, 2021), pandemic period is the serious diseases
which occurred firstly in china in the year 2019. The people and business concern
has been afraid from this period and government announced the lockdown. In
lockdown all businesses has been faced the challenges of lower productivity and
profitability. In study analysed that Covid -19 is a dangerous virus which spread all
over world and created problems in running their business. No any kind of
businesses were operated from the workplaces and crated the problems in
managing all functions. This diseases risen in year of 2019 and still is continue as
it affected the health of people.

As per view point of (Pricope, and Baltescu, 2021), The tourism industry is a
worldwide business catering to pleasure travel. This provides different types of
travelling and tourism services to their guests that can help to develop
organizational productivity. By conducting study it has analysed that TUI has been
affected negatively within Covid-19 as no people and guests were allowed to visit
the different destination and travel. The company has reduced the number of staff
due to which economy has been affected negatively. The company is facing the
challenge of lower production as profitability due to lack number of guests and
reducing economic rates (Weber-Sabil, and Han, 2021).
To determine the different suggestions could be used to operate their business
regularly.
As per view point of (Roy, 2020), Business aims to grow their functions and
activities in changing environment as it supports to develop the productivity. Due
to Covid-19 all businesses get hampered where it became challenging for
organization to operate their business. In relation to TUI Retail, there are different
strategies which could be follow by management to regulate their business by
bringing new activities such as:
Use of digitalization – This could be explained as effective planning which can
be used by organization to make their function in digitalized form within covid
period that supports to reach the targeted customers and increase productivity. In
relation to TUI, management provide a facility to book, order and cancel the
services via online method that supports to develop business performance.
Providing facility of workplace transformation For managing and
completing project it is not important to work from workplace only, as it could be
manage from home and other places where employees wants. When government
has announced lockdown then most of the offices operated from their homes. TUI
retail should adopt workplace transformation strategy in which it should allow their

employee to work remotely. This helps to manage all work and increase
productivity (Škare, Soriano, and Porada-Rochoń, 2021).
Following protocols – To operate a business there is need to follow Covid
protocol which can help to provide the safety to their staff and develop the
business performance. In relation to TUI Retail, management should advise their
employees to follow the covid protocols while running their business which can
help to maintain higher performance and productivity (Akbar, and Kisilowski, 2020).

Research Philosophy – This could be explained as principle group uses to
gathering information about particular topic. Interpretivism, positivism, and
realism are types of philosophies. In context to current research, interpretivism has
been used by researcher (Pantazi, 2021).
Research Approach – This shows as procedure which uses by researcher to
analysis the topic clearly. This considers inductive and deductive approach. In
current research, researcher has decided to use deductive approach as it helps to
collect the information regarding particular topic and supports to accomplish the
business goals (Jappelli, Pelizzon, and Plazzi, 2021).
Research strategy – This could be explained as planning and strategy which
used to set the goals and accomplish them timely. Strategy are most important to
an individual as it influences the number of people and supports to complete the
work timely. This involves experiment, survey, questionnaire, and interview uses
for different purpose and manage the activities. In relation to current research,
survey method has been used by researcher that can help to develop the
understanding and knowledge effectively (van Bentem, 2021).
Time Horizon – This could be explained as time framework which is followed
by an individual for managing their work and activities within given time period as

longitudinal horizon. In relation to current research, cross sectional horizon has
been used by researcher that can help to regulate the business properly and
managed all functions effectively. This method will help to provide all details
regarding topic and functions which are important to do and supports to
accomplish business goals (Valeri, and Baggio, 2021).

over current market trend and environment which helps to know how particular
business could be operated and managed effectively. This is important for each

functions and activities. The current research is about impacts of Covid-19 on
business performance where researcher made the use of secondary sources as it
helps to develop the business activities by introducing new plans and strategies in

techniques which uses to collect data in relation to particular topic as it helps to
reach the targeted audience. In relation to current research, quantitative technique
is used by researcher that can help to gather information by managing all functions

From the above report it can be concluded that pandemic has hit the whole world in
which all business sector hampered badly. This became important for business concern to
introduce different ways and suggestions which could be used to new activities that helps to
