Critical self-reflection of the process to complete project 1
Self-reflection allows a person to make sense of experience or materials in context to oneself
and conditions which shape their practices (Chen, Chen and Pai, 2019). It helps me to see
significance of my own learning process in project of ‘Marketing Strategy of Johnny Cupcakes’.
Moreover, self-reflection provides me opportunities to come with great solutions as well as
strategies to make improvement in my own learning (Proud and Morgan, 2021). To reflect my
experiences in working of completion of Project 1, use of Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle Model is
effective. The model is propounded by Graham Gibbs for giving structure to experiences of
learning. It includes six stages that are explained below in context to my work experience in the
project:
Description: In this stage, a person has chance to describe about event of situation in detail.
For completing the Project 1, I have decided to research on things individually (Kontinen and
Nguyahambi, 2020). Firstly, I have collected all types of material or information about the
company that is Johnny Cupcakes. Further, I looked on some theoretical framework that is STP

enough time prior deadline to write sections of my own. However, I didn’t plan great deal of
duration for rewriting the project in case something was to go unexpected.
Feeling and thought: It is concerned with exploration of thoughts which an individual had
in journey of work and the ways they might impacted whole experience (Yaacob and Asraf,
2021). Awareness is key purpose of the phase. Prior to start the working, I was feeling great and
happy as I have keen interest in field of marketing. But when I realised that the project require
keep understanding and knowledge about concepts, I became frustrated and dissatisfied. In
limited time to complete the working, I had to cancel various plans due to which I felt guilty as I
was not able to work harder for details of concepts and framework to analyse marketing strategy
of Johnny Cupcakes. Looking back to my working journey in the project, I am feeling satisfied
as I have put my efforts in the working of project.
Evaluation: The phase provides a chance of looking towards what worked as well as what
did not worked in an event. It assists a person to emphasis on both positive along with negative
aspects associated to the situation (Slade, Martin and Watson, 2020). In completion of project for
Johnny Cupcakes, the things that went good was that I produced good quality of project for
agreed deadline. I have learnt huge things from the working about the company and frameworks
associated to marketing. Also, the project motivated me to conduct study about segments of
marketing and analysing attractive of the industry. I contributed ethically in project completion.
However, the thing which didn’t went well was managing time in various activities.
Analysis: It provides a chance for making senses of situations that happened. Till now, an
individual emphasised on details about what actually happened in a situation (Gratton and
Gratton, 2020). Analysis stage provided me the chance to extract meaning for event. I have
analysed that things making small elements of work went well as I have bifurcated content and
structure of project as per my area of interest in marketing. It is analysed by me that I have
focused more on topics such as marketing mix, porters five force model and communication for
Johnny Cupcakes. When I work by myself, I analysed that I enjoy working in those area which
suits to my strengths. I have searched information through using websites, academic journals and
books that saves my huge time and efforts (Franklin, 2021). However, things didn’t go well as I
failed to prioritise activities and spent my time in activities that were not so important in the
project work. It ended in costing me fare more durations and resources than expected as well as I

had to stress along with rush through rewriting some content. According to me, it didn’t go well
because I haven’t plan the ways to write and structure sections that landed me to the situation.
Conclusion: It include summary of whole learning as well as highlights to actions or
practices which can improve results in future (Mulryan-Kyne, 2020). It is a natural response to
past sections. From the experience of project work about Marketing Strategy for Johnny
Cupcakes, I have learned that completion of a project requires detailed emphasis on each and
every element or section. It has been concluded that marketing strategy of Johnny Cupcakes
assist in attaining business objectives. By focusing on areas as per my interest have made things
possible to complete the project within determined deadline (Krueger and et. al., 2020). I have
also learned that time management is key in a project and sometime, challenging decisions is
required for reaching great heights. In future, I need to work on my critical thinking skill,
decision making skill and time management skill so that set aspects or required information are
collected properly and projects are completed with desired criteria.
Action Plan: The stage aids in planning for strategies to do working differently in similar or
related type of situation in future (Hariyati and Ungsianik, 2018). Action plan can be extremely
helpful for me to think about the ways I can act differently by ensuring that things happen in
particular manner is similar kind of project. If I have to engage in project work related to
marketing strategy of any company, I will first manage my time in all sections or areas
associated to the project (Karwat, 2020). Also, I will make decision effectively by looking at
deadline and significant of the project. For this, I need to develop my time management skill,
decision making and critical thinking skill. In context to improving critical thinking skill, I will
know exactly what I desire, deal with inconsistencies, consider consequences of options,
brainstorm ideas and evaluate my won working for determining aspects to foster efficiency.
Moreover, to develop my time management skill, I will start tasks early, prioritise working,
organise resources, learn productivity planning and schedule practices as per deadlines. For
fostering decision making skill, I will initiate working with desired outcomes, rely more on
insights about spot patterns, align life with core values and particulate in group thinking.
CONCLUSION
From the presented information, it can be concluded that reflection is a great way to look
towards own working in some project or event. It provides an individual with a motivation to
learn addition to enjoy learning process. Gibbs’ Reflective Model allows to learn on the basis of
