EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hospitality industry has been changing at rapid scheme with new changes and
implementation of processes they are expanding business globally. It is becoming essential for
Hotel sector to focus on market environment so that it is easier for them to make decisions and
increase their survival period in a long time interval. In this contemporary business environment
various types of issues are being faced by the hotel industry such as staffing technological
problems and environmental problems etc. Different types of research analysis and methods are
being adopted by Crown plaza from which they are capable of managing issues faced by them
during their operations.
Staffing problems are -
Difficult to improve employee morale
Problem in retaining subordinates and managing the quality of hospitality candidates
Issue in hiring and placing right employees at right place
Staffing problems directly impact upon operations of business which are needed to be
properly resolved so that activities are carried out effectively.Further problem is that to adopt
appropriate strategies for Business development is not easy because of manipulation of
information and data by competitors.There are many other issues linked with the staffing like
unclear job expectations, mismatch between jobs and employees lack of recognition, lack of
flexibility are some of the stopping issues and confirmed by Crowne plaza.Due to these issues
employee turnover rate is increasing in hotel industry which is impacting on overall
organisational structure at large scale.
Technological problems-
Difficulty in adopting new software due to cost & wide processes
Employees lack of understanding of technical tools/ technologies
Issue in failure of machines & management information system due to third party
access
Technological Problems are those which are the encountered by hotel industry due to the
fault or error in applications software and systems. Technical problems impact upon functions
and operations at wider scale. For example- Crown plaza finds it difficult to adopt new
information system and application software because of employee resistance as well as cost
expensive pricing. Due to technological problems workflow of complete is also affected which

create a big distraction within management. Every business is interconnected with technology
and it is not easy for any enterprises to carry out their activities without use of technology and
applications. As the technology changes periodically issues of bound to be occurred and which
requires proper update and solutions.
Another issue which is found within hotel in industry is that environmental problem in which
due to use of large number of resources it is becoming critically difficult for them to protect
environment as because they exploit many resources which creates a problem for their survival.

Garbage waste is also environmental issue in hotel sector because most of wastage are
non-recyclable which creates problem
Lack of knowledge towards new rules and regulations
After analysis of the above discussed issues found in hotel industry, it is seen that it is
important to focus on these issues so that it become easier for Crown plaza to carry out their
Hotel operations as well as functions with proper consideration. This has been further seen
that with use of effective strategies and it is convenient to deal with these contemporary
issues and achieve long-term goals within a specific time period.This has been stated that a
proper external and internal analysis is needed to be carried out so that it becomes easier for
every individual to make effective decisions and also issues are properly solved and
resolved.With proper carrying out analysis in both external and external way management of
crown plaza is capable of adopting essential resources for business activities. In order to
resolve this environmental problems Hotel is focusing on following all the rules and
regulations which are linked with environment and make strategies so that everything is
being done in legal procedure. Moreover, they also have hired environmental practitioner's
which helps them to understand changing sources and rules as well as regulations of
environment towards business. People are becoming aware about various kinds of
community and society rights which are essential for them to use it in proper way. Due to this
selected hotel need to increase your roles and responsibility towards protecting environment
and surroundings through which comparative advantages are achieved.
Crowne plaza is a multinational Hotel chain and HR of company make ensure that all
issues which are faced by Hotel are analysed and examined in most efficient manner.

Hospitality sector need to be active in their field because needs and demands of customer’s
changes at rapid scale so detailed information of market and other factors and need to be
obtained so that benefits are accomplished. It is critically seen that manager and leader of
Hotel should conduct proper training and development programs so that they are able to
identify current time issues which can affect business workflow.So from examining of
different types of issues it is stating that proper and reliable information is required by hotel
management to provide a solution to a specific problem.This report gives a brief knowledge
about how contemporary issues affect hospitality industry and their operations. Due to
changing management structure it is critically essential for enterprises to focuses on defences
and management processes which are required in market.
Due to covid-19 situation business of hotels has been unable to perform in proper manner
and which has also affected their profit and sales revenue. Furthermore, with implementation
of business activities it is not possible to carry out market activities in this on-going
pandemic situation.
