The implication of the demographic information/ possible issues that may arise
The race composition of Dallas indicates a high likeliness of race discrimination. This is due to
the prevalence of many mixed races in the district who in most cases may not work and associate
collectively. Cases of discrimination have been reported, where African Americans and the
Latinos are limited from voting (Pearson). This case was sanctioned by the minority lawmakers
and the civil rights group at the federal court in Washington. In other words, there are issues of
minority oppression resulting from the demographic composition of the district, which in turn
may also lead to insecurity in the district. However, on the other hand, high educations and
favorable social economic state of the individuals is also expected basing on the demographic
data (Owe 300)
Is the district gerrymandered?
