DATA COMMUNICATION AND NETWORKS
Introduction
For the preparation of the report on the data communication and networks a research is
done of the different network monitoring tool and the three scenario are analyzed for the
selection of the best tool that would support the central server, wireless and distributed
networking environment. The report helps in gaining knowledge about the different types of
networking technologies and demonstration of the basic principles and ideas for the management
of the application and the network components. The different types of network configuration are
analyzed for the application of the network monitoring tool in the current network and analyze
the flow of the data packets from the different location in the network. Nagios XI is used as a
network monitoring tool for the management of the network and show the status of the network
device and produce a report on the status of the network. The application of the network
monitoring tool helps in reducing the errors in the network and increase the security for the
transmission of sensitive information and data.
1. Scenario 1
1.1. Justification of the tool choice
Nagios XI is considered to be one of the most powerful IT infrastructure tools for monitoring.
This particular networking tool has been designed in such a way that it can monitor and
enterprise open source component (Hernantes, Gallardo and Serrano 2015). All the given loads
can be easily monitored in much effective way if and only central server is used. It can be done
with the help of proper monitoring of the 1st scenario. It has been designed in such a way that it
can easily deliver best monitoring solution as per the need of various organization. This
particular network monitoring software has been designed in such a way that it can offer

scalability and flexibility. XI is mainly used for carrying out difficult IT task along with retaining
some of the most powerful attributes for any enterprise (Kufel 2016). This particular monitoring
tool comes up with proper configuration wizards creates a platform where an individual to easily
enter information in step by step way. It helps in quick monitoring of any network. It comes up
with extended beyond out of given capabilities along with custom plugins and wizards which
tends to work from Nagios exchange.
1.2. Features that are important for the scenario
In the first stage, the various features of Nagios which are needed for solving various
kind of problem has given below:
IT Infrastructure monitoring: It helps in proper kind of monitoring of various types of
infrastructure components which is inclusive of service, network-based protocols, system metrics
and lastly network infrastructure (Kocjan and Beltowski 2016). A large number of party add-on
aims in providing proper kind of monitoring in virtual way for various kind of household
application.
Visibility: It helps in providing a central view of the given IT-based network and lastly
various kind of business operation (Ismail, Islam and Islam 2016). It comes up with a powerful
dashboard which is a need for power monitoring and third-party data. By making use of views
provided by user helps in having a quick access to various kind of information.

Customizability: A powerful GUI is needed for proper kind of customization of various
things like design, layout and lastly preferences as per the needed of various users (Karaarslan
2017). Team members can easily work along with flexibility as per the need of user.

Network Monitoring: Nagios XI helps in analyzing every given aspect of the given
network. This particular aspect is mainly needed for various aspects like network traffic and its
bandwidth (Pulkkinen 2018). In the domain of monitoring, Nagios XI aims to monitor and avoid
any kind of usual network which tends to occur in usual way. It is effective in certain number of
area which results in creating large number of error. Various kind of sensor needs to be deployed
like machinery of the given centralized which in many comes up in various template. It is a well-
known monitoring tool which is needed by various network administrator for analyzing an error
in the network (Kravenkit 2018). The main point is all about understanding various kind of
graphs with proper figures. It aims in reducing the overall time of troubleshooting.
