INTRODUCTION
Data communication can be defined as the exchange of digital data and information via connection of two or more
computers or network. So In order to connect the physical and logical components, there are three basic
requirements are included such as Connections, communication and services. This presentation will help in
developing a LAN architecture of different departments in Top Network Company. This report will discuss about
the local areas network that connected with the various devices for transmitting data one device to another. This
assignment will describe the typologies and protocol that applicable in the LAN.

LOCAL AREA NETWORK
Local area network is basically group of computers and other devices that share the
common information by using wireless link to server. It encompasses the computers and
peripherals connected to the different server within the geographic areas such as
commercial building etc.
LAN Networking comprises cables, Switches, routers, and other components which helps
in establishing interconnection of the internal servers of TNC (Top Network Company).
Ethernet and WiFi are primary ways to connect the local area network connections.

WI-FI uses the radio waves that connect to the LAN. Local area network is also including
fiber distributed data, interface and token rings etc.

LAN TOPOLOGY AND PROTOCOL
The LAN typologies are supported to the broadcast nature of network and also provide
the proper connectivity among the workstation of TNC organization.
In star topology, all the devices are connected on the LAN and also interconnected with
the central devices that operate the entire devices. In bus topology, All the hardware
devices are connected with single cable. It is backbone of local area network therefore,
one segment fails all the devices are disconnected.

In ring topology, Each and every nodes are connected by the point to pint links that
organized a proper circle.

HARDWARE
Switch is a multi port bridge which is used to forward the data packets and eliminates all
such packets that contains error. LAN uses switches to increase the efficiency of data
transfer. It is a device that uses switching the hardware to checking and forwarding data
in the form of packets.
Routers are the devices used in establishing inter connectivity computers present within
Local area. It routes the Data packets according to the IP addresses of such packets. IP
addresses helps in determining the sequence of delivering the data to destination

Hub is basically termed as a multi-port repeater that helps in connecting multiple wires coming from
different stations. It may be Active hub or Passive hub. It is the central devices that applicable in the
network topology to repeat the signals allowing the network for expanding with other stations.
Network interface card is a type of circuit that inserted in the network station that allows
communicating with another workstation.
Bridge is a hardware device to connect with tow or more Local area network. It also operates the
media-access layer for checking the data packets in proper manner.
