The report aims to propose an effective information system solution for Lion Company that can
improve the business process of the company. The report discusses the need of deployment of a
new Information system (IS) in Lion Company. The said company is one of the principal food
and beverage companies in Australia that employs nearly 6,700 people. Various problems
regarding effective decision making can be identified in the organization and therefore, a
proposal of implementation of a decision support system is made. The proposed DSS system is
expected to manage the process if critical decision making by providing an easy access to the
most important data of the organization. The need for bringing in modifications in the existing
manual system is further evaluated. The use of DSS can help in creation of a new business
opportunity of Lion and the process in which new business opportunity can be created is
emphasized in the report. The report provides an overview of the problem on basis of which the
use of an information system in Lion Company Australia is proposed. The problem statement
provides an overview of the key business needs for implementation of a DSS. The business
benefit that Lion can achieve with the implementation of DSS within the organization is

1. Introduction
Information system (IS) in business simplifies most of the complex business operations
by managing the companies’ data and information in a secure and effective manner. The use of
IS in an organization simplifies the process of information delivery and management of the

business management. One such technique is implementation of needed IS within an
organization. The different kinds of IS that business organization make use of in management of
