INTRODUCTION
Management style is consider as specific way in which manager or leader adopt in order
to attain their objective. It include ways through which they make decision, plan activities,
organized work, exercise authority and many more. There are several factors on which
management style may vary such as type of company, level of management, person to person
and many more (Chitando and Mlambo, 2020). For a company it is essential to select most
appropriate management style as that will help in conducting work in effective and appropriate
manner. Organization selected for the respective report is BT (British Telecom) it is operating in
the telecommunication industry. It is founded in 1984 as the private company as well as its head
office is located at the BT Centre, London, United Kingdom. Moreover respective company is
serving their products and services at the worldwide level (By, 2005). Topics covered in
respective report are management style, principle and function of management, steps taken for
change in organization structure and its impact on employees (Culpeper and Kan, 2020). Along
with this it also include leadership style, effects of power, influence and conflict various as well
as it also include types of motivation. In this report there is also recommendations or suggestions
which help a company in enhancing their performance effectively.
MAIN BODY
Evaluate the management style and state the principle and function of management used by CEO
of retail firm
A management style is considered as way in which manager or leader work in order to
fulfil their objective or goal. Management style consider several ways which a manager adopt for
planning, organizing, taking decision, delegation of authority, managing staffs and many more
(Cocks, 2014). There are several types of management style which a company may adopt in
order to conduct their work in effective and appropriate manner such as democratic style,
transformational style, result based style, transactional style, servant leader style and many more
(Dale and et. al., 2020). In different leadership style company management conduct decision
making related to operations and functions in different way. In respect of British Telecom, their
management implement transformational management style according to which leaders inspire,
encourage as well as motivate staffs in order to innovate and develop change (Van der Veer,
2020). This mainly help respective company in developing, growing as well as shaping the future

of the company in successful manner. Moreover there are several principle of management
which is adopted by CEO of BT, from which some are mentioned below:-
The customer is the most important person:- According to this principle the customers are
the most important for any business as they are the key for success and failure of the
retailers (Elving, 2005). There are the various methods and procedure to understand the
behaviour of the customer. In respect of BT customer is the king of the market every
thing is revolves around the customer due to which they focus on customer which help
them in growing business faster (de Araújo Lima, Crema and Verbano, 2020).
Retail is detail:- This is the most essential principle of retail as it focuses on the
understanding of the customer and detailed information about the business (Mosadeghrad
and Ansarian, 2014). It also emphasis that mistakes which is done in the past must not be
repeated in future. In respect of BT they offer effective and proper deals to their
customers which help them in attracting customers and growing business (El-Haj and et.
al., 2020).
Along with this there are several management functions which are adopted by CEO of
BT in order to conduct their work in effective manner, from which some are mentioned below:-
It is management function of respective company that they identify potential customers as
well as develop strategies according to their demand and need (Toyama and Yamazaki,
2020).
BT management function also include developing strategies for maintaining the
customers satisfaction by delivering quality telecommunication services at potential
market (Noor and et. al., 2020).

firm and its impact on employees
Organization structure is considered as system which outline how to do specific activities
in directed for attaining the goal of company successfully. This activities include rules,
responsibility as well as roles (Diefenbach, 2007). Moreover organisation structure also
determined about how important information flow among the different levels inside a company.
In respect of this, BT they are conducting their business operations and functions at the
international level as well as in telecommunication industry (Ramanathan, 2009). It is essential
