INTRODUCTION
Management style signifies specific leadership style that helps in handling subordinate
within business organisation. There are various types of style which is adopted by leader within
company for aim of handling subordinate. The top management focuses on deciding future
strategy as per existing condition & culture within company. The present assignment is
depending upon assessing management style related to CEO of Walmart named as Dough
Mcmilion. He is American businessman & president of Walmart. Furthermore, there is a
requirement of assessing administration style and function of administration that is adopted by
CEO of retailing company. Moreover, there is a description regarding steps that is necessary for
structure of company for accomplishing performance level and culture which impose direct
effect on subordinate as per used leadership style.
The current issues faced by company named as Walmart the present Covid-19
pandemic imposes direct effect on retailing store. There is a requirement to emphasize on
communication culture as well as collaboration in order to deal with effect of function and
operations of organisation. This method is adopted by Mcmillon in reference of top honest along
with open conversation, open ears and many more that is emphasized on strengthening of
countries & communities. In addition to this, the organisation focuses on fostering collaborative
culture related to communication. The CEO of Walmart to handle present challenges, listen
every issues with open ear as well as open heart (Blom and Du Plessis, 2020).

Management style herein, Mcmillon is emphasized on adopting authoritarian
administration style focus on handling functions and element of business organisation by
improving clear direction as well as control. It is determined as a directive administration style as
well as autocratic style that help in defining case that is depend upon reporting structure,
subordinate ask different kind of questions regarding consistency towards work. In context of
Walmart, their focus is on considering capacity of business organisation that add worth to
provision of retailing services of company named as Walmart. The leader focuses on cultural

element of Walmart which involves offering timely facility to user, respecting user and many
more.
Principle of administration innovation administration is key factor which is adopted by
retailing organisation. The chosen organisation is capable to survive along with restricted motion
by emphasize on superior quality goods and perform their work in respect of maintaining
competitiveness at Marketplace. They focus on assessing issues that result in change in
behaviour of human being. There are various principle related to administration that is adopted
by CEO of Walmart. Henri Fayol introduced 14 principles and also provide innovative
perception related to administration concept. In addition to this, Mcmillon stayed focused on
improving unity in direction and it is determined as a 5th principle related to unity in
administration principle by increasing engagement with unified objective. Herein, management
of the business organisation shapes efforts being produced by various individuals towards
achievement of respective goals and objectives of an organisation. In covid-19, the main purpose
of organisation is to provide product as well as services to its user in proper manner (Bratton,
2020).
Function of administration there are different kind of administration function that is
adopted by CEO of company. Mcmillon focuses on adopting this kind of principal for aim of
handling change within Walmart that is going to be mentioned below:
Planning: It is the primary process in operational activities of a business firm. It involves
accomplishment of respective plans and objectives of an organisation within given time
framework. With addition to this, it also includes effective utilisation of given resources for
shaping efforts being produced in a firm towards growth.
Organising: It is the second step to establish better productivity in a business firm. This
step involves coordinating various operational activities of the workforce in systematic manner
for ensuring optimum utilisation of resources of the firm. With addition to that, it also includes
monitoring performances of respective staffs for avoiding any sort of wastage their efforts and
ensures better productivity in a business firm.
Leading: The leaders or managers of respective business firm are concerned with
formulation of flexible business policies. It helps in avoiding wastage of valuable resources of
the firm and shapes operational activities of workforce towards smooth conduction of firm's
