DESIGN MINDSET IN THE
CONTEXT OF INNOVATION
The term design mindset indicates
modern skill which helps to bring the
productivity in an organization through
creativity and innovation.. In the current
business scenario, the design mindset has
become the important element for
bringing innovation (Gaziulusoy, 2015).
Without the proper design mindset, the
manager will not be able to add a unique
perspective to the problem and thereby
find the correct solutions.
The procedure of the
application of the design
mindset, is very
systematic. It comprises of
the following steps:
Empathize: Learning
about the appropriate
audience (Jordan &
Lande, 2016).
Define: Understand
the point of view.
Brainstorming: Coming
up with a creative
solution (Brenner,
Uebernickel & Abrell,
2016).
Prototyping: Building a
series of scenarios.
Testing: Testing the
ideas and coming up
with the best idea
The design mindset procedure is the
focus point of the thinking, system of
business and the pivotal moment (Daniel,
2016). In the context of innovation, the
design mindset has a crucial role to play
as it helps in understanding the blue print
of the problem and then use those
problems for basis for the innovative
solutions (Carlgren, Rauth, &
Elmquist, 2016).
