admission of gases as well as use of petrol can be minimised. Hotel also focuses on electric

lightning, decoration, customer services and other mechanism. Decoration in customer
services uses the maximum part of energy within the organisation where computer systems of
the organisation consume less energy. Some of this which is within the organisation has to be
left or because of services like food and other products which is stored in refrigerator for
maintaining the freshness. Companies using various practices to minimise the use of energy
within the organisation where it started reducing the wastage of energy product which are not
selling regularly why closing the operation and selling of these also started the use of solar
energy within different departments of the organisation where it can provide less and less
pollution and harmful gases within the environment. There is a pre plant policy within the
organisation for sustainable energy practices within the organisation but these are outdate
policies which are not followed by the organisation in an appropriate manner as well as there
is low saving of energy and use of old technology make it difficult for the organisation to
save the energy. News different types of machines which run on petrol and diesel and act as a
threat to the environment because they do emission of harmful gases within environment.
Water
Consider the levels of water usage. How is water used on a daily basis? What things/tasks
use up the most water? Are staffs using water sensibly? What practices or policies are in
place to support effective water use?
The level of water used within the organisation is at moderate level where the water is used
on daily basis within the organisation for performing different functions related to cleaning
and other personal use. it perform various task which consume large amount of water some of
these stars are related to cleaning of different utensils and items, Using the water for utility
services, stop cleaning purpose, clearing of warehouses by washing the warehouses for
maintaining hygiene. The use of water is moderate within the Tesco so there is no any fixed
task within the organisation which uses the water most. It can be said that cleaning function
for warehouse use the most water. The staff of Tesco is using the water in an appropriate
manner where did try to reduce the wastage of water as well as use the limited amount of

What is considered waste at the workplace? Describe the types of things which are classified

There are various things within the task which are identified as a waste material at the
workplace what describing these things organisation has classified there wastage material in
different categories. This wastage considered within the organisation in damage and expired
category. Tesco is dealing in retail business it is mandatory for the organisation to identify the
damaged an expired product within the organisation because it can impact negatively on the
customers health and are also wasteful products for organisation. Food retailing department
of the Tesco is one of that department which accumulated more best than other departments.
According to the audit the reason behind in the increased wastage of food retailing
department in Tesco is that it is dealing in food products which have limited life and act as
raw product to the organisation. Because of their limited life they become waste than any
other product sell by the organisation. In the organisation the staffs of Tesco is very
concerned about the waste management practices within the organisation where the
regulatory check expiry date of the product and try to sell the product before they expire.
Also follow a proper mechanism where the can minimise the wastage of these products by
regularly checking there expiry and placing them in front of display where we can sell them
by the use of first in first out method.
Chemicals
Describe products used in the workplace that consist of chemical substances. What are they
used for? Is there an existing policy or procedure for management of chemicals? Are staffs
responsible with the handling of chemicals?
Tesco is mainly operating in the food and clothing retail sector where it doesn't deal with the
chemical substance within the organisation but in some of the food and clothing product there
are consistencies of little bit chemical substance which are not impact on the performance of
staff and on the employees’ health. But also sell some products related to house cleaning and
pantry which consists of some chemicals. For this company separate policy and its staff for
antic is chemical substance as well as provide effective guidelines special save them from
negative impact of these chemical products.
