INTRODUCTION Teaching a language is a complex issue for teachers as well as for the learners. Teachers have to be extremely attentive while delegating their teachings and lessons. This report will suggest some basic methods and approaches of teaching any languages. It will cover some basic elements of teaching English language to students with respect to some specified models and methods. MAIN BODY Being a language teacher, I will be focusing on some specified methods and approaches of teaching which my help me as well as my students to grab the lessons effectively. At regular teaching basis, I believe that high involvement with students can be extremely supportive for language teachers. I will deliver some steps to my students which will help them to learn the language in a creative and interesting way (Kaygisiz, Anagun and Karahan, 2018). I will ask them to develop and make their own study notes, watch movies and serials in the same language they intended learn. Apart from this, I will ask them to communicate with each other in English only and to interact with themselves, hearing or assessing their own mistakes to promote self learning process. Along with it, I may use advanced teaching modules that will support me in generating more advanced teaching aid and plans for my students. There are number of methods and approaches that can be used while delivering learning lectures to students. Selection of methods can be done on the basis of nature of learners and their capabilities. As per the justified teaching methods and its effectiveness, I can choose a significant pattern by either choosing a single method or by combining two approaches of teaching a language (Harmer, J. 2017). Direct method can be used where I can specify instructions of using a single language which I tend to teach for regular interaction. I may restrict my students to communicate in other languages or in any language they are comfortable with. Two other interesting methods of teaching a language are Communicative teaching and community language learning. Both can be effective teaching styles for me to regulate learning of my students in slightly different way. In communicative language teaching, I would be deliveringallthenecessarytipsandsuggestionstostudentsforstrengtheningtheir communication in every possible and basic situations. While in community language learning, I will drive my focus on to relationship and bond I share with my students and try to teach them in 1
their mother language. This method is one of the most effective method to teach any language to students which will provide a comfortable and supporting environment to them for learning. Similarly, structural approach of teaching any language such as English, can be one of the most complicated process which tends to create a sense of threat language among students. This process focus upon the complicated rules of grammar that need to introduced whiling teaching English language. As far the models and approaches of teaching any language is considered, ESA model can be a supportive framework to deliver a standardised pattern of teaching to the students. As per this model, teachers may utilises three directional approaches which is Straight arrow, Boomerang and patch work procedures. This three directional method can be collaboratively utilised by teachers by high level of involvement and engagement with students. Another approach that can be practised by teachers for effective teaching system is PPP model which includes “Presentation, Practise and Production” (Turan and Akdag- Cimen, 2019). The teachers may effectively present the what they will be going to teach, after it they may undergo for collective practices and at last, the students may ask to produce their own sentences in the same language which is being learning. I may increase the effectiveness of my teaching processes by including the most appropriate and suitable models of teaching techniques. For my teaching methodology, I will focus upon listening skills of my students to provide them support during all learning sessions. I will deliver a proper listening materials and strategies to my students which will help them to easily reciprocate to the questions asked them in English. I will select an appropriate model of teaching which is ESA framework that will deliver me as specificdirectionsofengagingemotionallywithmystudents, providethemsufficient encouragement to study and learn English language. CONCLUSION The report has summarised that, language teachers need to be highly focused with their teaching processes and inclusion of teaching models and approaches They must adopt a single to two effective methods to increase efficiency of their own and their students as well. 2
