INTRODUCTION
Digital business are those business which use technology in their organisation to create
value and experience for customer. It helps to transform business and allow use of technology to
enhance interaction between employees and customer. For this project, selected technology is
Robotic process automation. Robotic process automation is based on software robots or artificial
intelligence which helps in automation in process of business. This project report include
importance of robotic process automation and their development. It also include technology used
in organisation, platform and software used in organisation, use of this technology in business as
tool.

Importance of Robotic Process Automation
Robotic process automation is a technology based on software which helps a business to
bring automation in their operation (Asatiani and Penttinen, 2016) and is important in various
ways which are as follows:
Reduce cost: Automation in task of business helps to save cost of organisation and result
in increased productivity of organisation (Fredriksson and Reuterwall, 2019). It reduce cost of a
employees in business and is less cost in a company.
Better customer experience: Robotic process automation in organisation reduce feed for
valuable resources which helps them in enhancing experience of customer with limited cost. It
helps organisation in defining success of their customer.
Lower operation risk: Robotic process automation include make business process
automatic which helps to eliminate business with human error. As human error included in
business process are tiredness, lack of skills and knowledge which make operation process more
riskier.
Improved Internal process: Technology like Robotic process automation helps
companies in clear defining governance procedure which is better in compare to artificial
intelligence. This technology helps to make internal process more faster in internal reporting and
in internal activity.

Does not require replacement of previous IT system: Robotic process automation
helps business without replacing existing system of organisation. Robotic process automation
can helps business to take advantage of existing system to extent of their capacity.
Development of Robotic process automation
Development of robotic process automation require certain steps which helps an
organisation to successfully implement this technology (Gogola and Šild, 2019). The process of
development of this technology are as follows:
Identification: In first step, strategist identify process of business for development of
robotic process development in organisation. Development of this technology require
methodology which is agile.
Discover: In this step, requirement of technology is identifies which include level of
automation and complexity in that process. This will also helps in identify benefits of process
automation.
Design: Requirement is identify for designing process that include detail of every
process. In this, flow of automatic process has designed which include only selected process.
Development: In this step, process architect write code and scripts for automation
process which include helps of robotic process automation tool.
Testing: In this step, process development team testing which measure performance of
robotic technology. Testing is conducted to check whether the software has performance skills to
perform task of organisation.
Implementation: After testing to robotic technology, it is implemented in organisation.
It issues occur in testing process than solution are identified from problem and then implement
this technology in organisation.
Technology used in Robotic process automation and its use
Technology used in robotic process automation include are screen scrap, artificial
intelligence and workflow automation (Kärhä, 2020). Screen automation refers to process used in
collecting data and helps user. Work flow automation is software which helps in reducing
manual work and increase order fulfilment. It provide various benefit which are as follows:
Enhance cycle time: Completion of a task performed by human worker takes more times
in compare to robotic process automation. This techniques helps business in reducing their cycle

times as it can complete many task in one times which require more times by human workers. It
saves cost of operation of business as it save cost of efforts of many human resource.
Employee empowerment: This technology does not require any kind of technical skills
which make it beneficial for organisation. It helps employees to perform their work effectively
without taking helps from employees of IT. It make employees of IT department to focus on
other work of organisation.
Simplicity and flexibility: This technology is easy to use and based on automation as
coding and script writing does not require in this technique. It is easy to transfer complex process
from human workers to machine with out much efforts. It will helps an organisation in many
ways by making workflow and task automatic with quick returns.
Insights and analytics: Past experience make leaders of organisation to make more
effective decisions. Robotic process automation helps business to provide ability of gather, track
and analyse data. This will helps to improve present operation of business and helps them to
identify correct issues and allow them to forecast more accurate business practices.
Better control: Business use outsourcing in which they are completing their work with
other company which is riskier effort for company. It helps to provide better solution to issues of
company and helps them to maintain visibility in business and ensure control over activity.
Software and technology platform used in Robotic process automation
Blue Prism: Blue prism robotic process automation is software technology which
provide core capabilities as it can be used on any platform (Brander, 2020). To use this tool one
can need to know programming skills and is user friendly technology for developers. It is a multi
environment model which can work on any application. It provide independence and high speed
execution.
Inflectra Rapise: Rapise is a techniques which provide business with hybrid scenario
and helps in providing automation in web, application, desktop (Mao, Harman and Jia, 2017). It
is user friendly for non developers ad programmers. It is suitable for both small and medium
organisation which support automation projects. It provide functionality like recording and play
and is open play for integration and enhancements. Execution of this software is fast and be used
by non developer user.
Ui Path: Ui path provide all capabilities which supports Citrix and is user friendly
(Sobaszek, Gola and Varga, 2016). It is used to solve complex problems and is suitable for any

organisation irrespective to size of business. It provide user platform on which they can handle
any type of process. This software has effective feature and reduce cost of organisation.
Types of business or organisation uses robotic process automation
This technology is used in various type of business and organisation and helps in
automation of their business process (Mantha, Menassa and Kamat, 2018). It is used in health
care industry for appointment, data entry of patient list, billing, maintaining records etc. In retail
business, it is used for maintaining order of customer, sending notification to customers and
shipping product along with tracking shipment process. It is also used in telecommunication
industry as it helps in updating customer data, monitoring data dan management of fraud data. It
is also used in banking industry for maintaining data accuracy and security of data. In insurance
industry, it is used for work process and data entry with its application. In manufacturing
industry, it is used to help in process of supply chain including billing, administration, data
migration. Walmart, AT&T, Vanguard, Deutsche bank, Ernst and young are some of company
which are using Robotic process automation techniques. They are using robotic process
automation techniques which helps them in answering employees and getting information from
documents of audit. Some airline business use this technology for cancelling and issuing refunds
for tickets. This technology also helps to provide training to employees and making organisation
more advance.
Use of this technology as business tool
Robotic process automation can be used as business tool as it helps business in their
operations (Cooper, 2020). As a business tool it helps in an organisation in following ways:
Invoice processing: Invoice is important for all type of business irrespective to their
industries and size. This work is related to finance department of company and can affect
functionality of business. This process is challenging as employees of finance department need to
manually transfer data from different source. RPA helps in automatically process receipt of
invoices in paper or electronic form.
ERP data entry: ERP entry is a common business process performed by staff of back
office and require times with efforts of employee. It waste whole day of employee in completing
this type of data entry work. This process is a human process which may contain error and can
create problem in which can affect organisation operation. RPA provide solutions to these

problems and include function like data gathering,updating, validating data. It helps in increasing
productivity by taking less times and efforts.
Payroll: Robotic process automation helps in making payroll in organisation as payroll is
task done through human resource manager of organisation and require time as it is manual task
(Draghiciu, Burca and Galasel, 2017). This task require efforts in data entry and is based on
certain rules. RPA helps in verifying consistency of employee data, maintaining accuracy of tie
records, benchmarking for hiring and termination of employees. It complete task like payroll
with more accuracy and efficiency.
Discussion of nature of relation between digital business and theory of business management
Digital business include use of technology in organisation which helps in enhancing
value of business that helps in reducing cost of business (Liu, Wang and Liu, 2019). Use of
technology in business helps them to increase efficiency in operation and also provide
organisation with competitive advantage in market. Business can use any technology as it helps
in reducing manual efforts and make work more accurate. There are different technology like
artificial intelligence, robotic automation process.
There are different business management theory which helps an organisation to manage
their work effectively. These theory include systemic management theory, bureaucratic
management theory, human relation theory.
Human relation theory: Human relation theory is concerned with human relation
movement in organisation and developed through Elton Mayo (Langford, 2019). This theory is
focused on improved working condition of employees including break time, lighting which helps
in improving performance of employees. This theory understand complex human behaviour and
influence various factors. This theory helps in increasing engagement of employees and improve
employee retention with improved productivity. Advantage of this theory in organisation are as
follows:
Greater engagement: This theory helps in increase employee engagement by making
feel them valued. It helps employee to invest their efforts in work of organisation. RPA helps in
increasing engagement of employee in productive work and save efforts of employee in other
work. This technology helps organisation in reducing human error as it is more emphasis on
automatic process rather than human efforts.

Improved productivity: This theory helps in increasing productivity of organisation
which also increase commitment of employees towards organisation (While, Marvin and
Kovacic, 2021). Robotic process automation technique also helps in this work as they helps
employees in avoiding repetitive work and make them focused on more productive efforts. This
will also helps cost of organisation to reduce human efforts and increase profit.
Improvise retention: This theory make all efforts to increase employee retention in
organisation as hiring new employees is costly affair for organisation (Wei and Ren, 2018).
RPA also save cost and efforts of employee and also make their working easier. Using this type
of technology is simple which make employee more satisfied and improve their retention in
organisation.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that digital business refers to
those process which helps an organisation to increase value and productivity of their
organisation. These technology provide organisation with competitive advantage and increase
their profit level by increasing demand of their product. Robotic process automation is
technology which reduce human efforts in organisation and increase automation in business.
This technology is used in every type of business as it help in reducing cost of organisation and
increase quality of work. It also helps to reduce cycle time of operation of business and reduce
human error in work which might create problem for business. There are different software
which use this technology including blue Prism, inflectra rapise, Ui Path. This technology is used
in different industries include health care, retail industries, telecommunication, insurance etc. It
is used in business as tool in making pay roll, ERP, invoice processing. This technology is used
in management theory to implement those effectively in organisation.
