INTRODUCTION
Leading by having the digital disruption helps to examine the forces and the techniques
that lead to the digital transformation. This also includes the leadership challenges that are
basically associated with the disruptive environment. The current report is based on Tesco which
is the multinational store in the market of UK. This report will include the objectives of the
digital transformation by the company. Further this will put focus on the initiatives and digital
technologies used by the company. Moreover, this report will also indicate the features of digital-
ready culture that will be adopted by the organization. This assignment will also include the roles
and responsibilities of CCO and the Goleman's Leadership style to advice the best leadership
style the company will adopt.
TASK 1: THE CASE FOR CHANGE
Objectives of digital transformation for the company
Tesco is the British multinational grocery store and having its headquartered in Welwyn
Garden City. This is the third largest grocery store in the world this helps the company to have
the better profits. The company has 3400 over supermarket that helps the customers to have the
availability of the products. The company used to sell online products and have the proper
delivery of the products (Vial, 2021). This is one of the leading supermarket brand in the markets
of UK and have 354000 employees. The company has to do digital transformation that helps
them to have better trading across the globe.
Digital transformation refers to the process of using the digital technology in order to
create new or to modify the business processes. By having the digital transformation it helps the
company to have the better business processes, culture and to have the better customer
experience. The objectives of digital transformation is as describe below:
1. Helps in improving services: By having the digital transformation it helps the
company to provide the better services to the customers. This will attract the
customers in order to enjoy the better services as their needs are satisfied faster.
As in the pandemic time the people were not going out so the company helps
them to have the delivery of the products at the door of customers. This makes the
company to have improvement in order to provide the better services.
2. Helps in increasing efficiency: The adoption of the digital technologies makes
the company to have faster production and delivery of the products (Verhoef and

et.al., 2021). This will help Tesco to improve its efficiency and have better
dealings with the customers.
3. Helps in improving employee performance: The digital transformation used to
create the positive environment that helps in improvement of the productivity. By
this the employee performance is enhanced and this makes the company to grow
in the market (Nadkarni and Prügl, 2021). As due to COVID-19 the employee
performance is affected so the company can have the digital transformation that
helps them to improve the employee performance.
TASK 2: GAINING DIGITAL BUSINESS AGILITY
Advising company to gain Digital Business Agility
Digital Business Agility refers to the process that helps the organization update, change
or adapt the new processes. This makes the company to have the better production and business
functions. The business agile refers to the system that improves the agility in the organization
culture, strategy, leadership, etc. in order to have better operations in the market (Hendriyani and
Raharja, 2019). By using the Digital Business Agility model it will help the company to have
better focus on the market. The model is as described below:
Hyper awareness: The Hyper aware companies in the market are less affected by the
changes in the market. This is because they are focused towards the changes in the environment
that helps them to have better profits. Tesco can have the Digital Acceleration Team that helps
them to have the proper monitoring of the social media. This is the best initiative that the cited
company can take in order to have better knowledge about the market (Ting and et.al., 2020).
This can be done by using the digital technology which makes the company to have better
monitoring of the online market. The company can use the artificial intelligence that will
improve the human intelligence by using the machines that are linked with the human actions.
Tesco must use the AI that helps them to gain the digital business agility and this will improve
the profitability as well. The companies that are hyper aware are known about the changes in the
market this will provides them new opportunities to trade digitally.
Informed Decision making: The informed decision-making is the process that improves
the ability of the company in order to make the better decisions. The decisions taken by the
company must be on the basis of real data and the past experiences of the company. In order to
have the best decisions the company can take the initiative in order to provide the free delivery

company must have the best performance in the market. As Tesco is one of the leading
supermarket stores, so they must have the better decisions. However by having the information,
it sometimes fails the company to operate on such decisions. The company must not only have
assumption they should also work on the decisions taken by them. The decisions must be based
on the past experiences and on the gut feeling that helps them to achieve the goal.
Execute fast: By having the fast execution it makes the company to have the faster
making of the plans and execute them when needed. This can be done by firm by having the
proper and efficient planning that helps them to take decisions. The company must do innovation
in order to provide the best services to the customers and helps them to have better digital
transformation (Prikladnicki, Lassenius and Carver, 2019). Tesco can execute the plans that they
have made in the second step of the model that helps them to gain the Digital Business Agility.
The company must learn the use of new and innovative technology that helps them to grow in
the market. By adopting and taking initiative to use the new technology makes the company to
have better and faster production. The ability to learn and have the use of technology that helps
to have better execution of the digital technology.
Digital technology refers to the use of electronic tools, devices and the resources that
helps to process the data. The cited organization can use the Artificial intelligence that is
described as the stimulation of the human intelligence that is processed by having the machine
actions. This will help the company to have the proper decision-making by minimizing the
process. Artificial intelligence is the digital technology that allows the firm to have the better
decisions and improves the core process that helps them to operate successfully in the market.
This used to operate 24×7 without having any interruption and downtime.
This is very important for the company and for society as well as it improves the efficiency
of the organization and can augment the working that is done by the humans. This makes the
cited company employee to have relief from doing the repetitive nature of work and helps them
to have better results. The employee must learn the use of this technology as this helps them to
have less repetitive tasks. By this the employee can give their best in other things that helps the
company to grow in the market. The employees in the organization are known by the best use of

order to have better interaction with the goods and services. It is very important for the company
to have and facilitate the new digital skills in the members of the team in order to have the better
digital environment in order to have better work. The company must put their customers first
which helps them to have the better selling of the product. As this is one of the important
technique must be adopted by the company in order to optimize in the digital world. As by
having full focus on the customers and selling the products digitally helps the company to have
better growth in the market.
On the other hand Romero-Ivanova and et.al., (2020), it is state that, the company can be
digitally ready by having the collaborative culture. The collaborative culture refers to the culture
in the workplace that used to have full focus on different skills of the employees that helps to
have better team work. Tesco must have the collaborative culture in order to have the better and
innovative products which they used to sell in the digital market. By creating the collaborating
culture the organization will improve its performance and helps them to have better digital
market.

roles and responsibilities that they have to perform in order to work in the company. As the
company is creating the new role in the organization that helps them break the silos between the
departments and groups and have incentive collaboration helps to appoint CCO. There are some
role and responsibilities of Chief Collaboration officer which is described below:

Goleman’s Leadership style and Techniques that helps to leaders to grow
The Goleman’s Leadership style includes the various leadership style that includes the
Coercive, authoritative, affiliative, democratic, pacesetting and coaching leadership styles. The
organization used to choose the leadership style on the basis of work done in the company. By
having the best leadership style it helps the organization to have better management of the team

includes the participation of the team members in order to have the best decision. The
management in this type of organization is very well structured as the decisions are in the
favoured of employees. In this type of workplace there is proper collaboration of the culture and
helps them to have the proper settlement of the issues.
On the contradictory note Usnick and et.al., (2018) says that the company must not adopt
the democratic leadership style as it used to have effect on the profitability. As the company has
to do digital transformation it must use the coercive leadership style as the employees must get
the command in order to have proper working. For example, In order to deal with the employees
the employees must be put on the fire, if they are not performing well.
There are some approaches and techniques that help the employees to have better working
and have great support to have the digital transformation. This is described by using the Grow
model that consists of four elements. This includes the Goal, reality, options and will. In order to
grow in the digital market Tesco must follow this that helps them to achieve better profits
(Elkhwesky and et.al., 2022). The goals help the company to inspire and have measurable
achievements and to know about the reality. As the company has many option so it must use the
best option in order to have in better success in the market.

company. As due to COVID Tesco is required to have the digital transformation that helps them
to have better performance. Further this report has described about the digital business agility by
stating one initiative for each component and one digital technology. In order to stay in the
