Abstract
This project covers the aims of the study such as to determine the impact of
digital transformation on the business management by using quantitative method
and conducting survey. It covers how the organisation implements digital technology
in order to transformation their policies and method for the achievement of the goals
in effective manner. Along with it impact on the performance, productivity and culture
of the organisation. The research conduct both primary and secondary research
along collect data by questionnaire to meet the research objectives. the study is
conducted on the Unilever for this report in order to determine the digital
transformation and its contribution to its success. The research determines the
needs of digital transformation in company to reduce the problems, ineffectiveness
and increase the productivity of company. The study is conducted to determine the
relation among digital transformation and business performance as it is very
important for Unilever to install digital technology in their organisation or fast and
systematic working as per the identified in literatures on the topic.

provide education to me to conduct some useful as well as productive work.

direction in order to complete my research project effectively. Along with the thanks

Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Background/Context of the Research
The concept of the digital transformation is related and associated with the
integration of the digital technology within all the area and operations of business
that tend to result in form having higher efficiency and deliver more value to
customer. It has been seen that the now a days the concept of the digital technology
has become vital and essential within all business organization as it supports higher
efficiency and effective business management (Favoretto et al., 2021). The current
project is based on Unilever company which is a well known British multinational
consumer goods company the main headquarter of which is located at London, UK.
The key products offered by Unilever comprises of the food items along with the
condiments, cleaning and home products, beauty items, personal care and hygiene
product, etc. Further, Unilever was founded in the year of 1929 by the merger of two
British soap maker and which soon become the largest producer of soap in world
(Fernández-Rovira et al., 2021). At present, Unilever is having its business
operations in more than 190 countries of the world thus, it requires effective use of
technology to have proper coordination and improved level of the business
management.
1.2 Research Question (s)
The key set of the research questions that has been set out to effectively conduct
and undertake current investigation are provided and listed as below:
What is the concept of digital transformation?
What are the advantages of digital transformation for business management,
in the context of Unilever?
What are the challenges of using digital transformation to improve business
management, in the context of Unilever?

1.3 Rationale for the selection of topic
The selection and undertaking of the current project are seemed rationale and
important as digital transformation has become a vital concept for all business
organisations as it tends to supports higher efficiency and productivity through
automation. Further, the undertaking of the current project is also rationale to fill the
theoretical gap as well as create and develop a better understanding about digital
transformation along with reviewing and analysis its advantages in leading effective
business management (Magistretti, Pham and Dell'Era, 2021). Apart from this, it has
been also seen that many issues and challenges are being faced especially within
the retail sector because of the strict lockdown and social distancing norms created
by spread of Covid-19. Thus, at that time developing and having implication and
better insight about digital transformation has become more rationale and significant.
Along with this, the current research and investigation is also helpful in identifying the
challenges faced while leading digital transformation thus supports its better
application to improve the overall business management (Matarazzo et. al., 2021).
Further, the undertaking of the current investigation is also seemed valuable and
important from the personal view point and academic aspect of researcher as it
supports and ensures higher development of personal skill and competency. Along
with this, the current study also supports a better understanding and knowledge for
the other scholars on the vital topic of digital transformation.
1.4 Research Aims and Objectives
Research Aim
The main aim and purpose of the current investigation is, “to evaluate the
impact of digital transformation on business management” in the context of Unilever.
Research objectives
To discuss the concept of digital transformation.

Chapter 2: Literature Review
2.1 Introduction of Literature Review
Literature review forms out a vital section of every project that tend to provide
a systematic analysis and review of the pre-existing set of the data. Thus, literature
review supports and leads out a base and framework for effectively conducting a
project through ensuring better understanding and review of the selected topic
(Savastano et al., 2022). The current literature review is based on the topic of the
concept of digital transformation along with reviewing about the advantages of digital
transformation for business management and challenges of using digital
transformation. An analysis and review of a set of online article and journals has
been made which are related with the topic of digital transformation and its objective
a discussion and review of which has been provided in the main body of the
literature review.

organisation
As per the view point of the Massaro (2021), the concept of the digital
transformation is related and associated with the integration of the digital tools and
technology with the overall business operations and activity of a firm. Further, the
