The issue of unethical business operations in Africa has a significant impact on the
overall development of the region. However the question in relation to this research will
be to identify the sustainability of ethical and unethical business in Australia. In a market
place where a social evil like corruption in form of bribery exists it becomes difficult for
those businesses to survive who do not indulge in such activities. The society gets use
to the situation and it becomes normal for them to participate in such activities. In east
Africa most bribes are paid by those who reside in urban areas, although the amount
which is paid by them individually is not much but these amounts contribute together to
form a significant number. In addition business structures also include large scale
corruption in relation to their activities. However these businesses are sustaining and
those who do not indulge in such activities are not able to survive in the contemporary
market place.
The objectives of the research will be
 To determine the level of corruption which constitutes business activities in East
Africa
 To determine the impact of corruption acceptability in the society on ethical and
unethical business
 To determine the indulgence of the government to form policies towards
addressing the situation

 What is the level of corruption which constitutes business activities in East Africa

addressing the situation

What facts or information will you need to gather? How will you access these?
For the purpose of the research the researcher would require both primary and
secondary data sources in order to appropriately conduct the research
The secondary sources which will be required in relation to research will include journal
articles and reports in relation to the issue of corruption in East Africa. This will help the
researcher to review the literature in an appropriate manner so that he is able to identify
to what extent research has been conducted in relation to this topic and what is the gap
which is present in relation to the conducted research and the topic in hand for the
researcher. The data will be collected by the researcher through the use of various data
bases and would be incorporated as the part of the research by making proper
acknowledgement of the resources.
The researcher will collect primary data for this research through the use of an interview
process. The interview will be conducted on managers and consumers of different
market sectors in East Africa. A survey would be conducted through the formation of
close ended questions by using websites like survey money.
The information which would be primary needed from such respondents will be in
relation to the indulgence of such respondents in unconscionable corruption and their
association with ethical and unethical businesses.
