Introduction
Teaching can be referred to as the procedure of catering to the needs, demands, feelings
and experiences of learners and intervening in their learning cycle for the purpose of providing
them with adequate knowledge through which they can get elevated in the desired field. In other
words, it can be said that teaching is the process whereby an individual teaches or passes on
instructions to other person to enhance their learning and development. Besides this, learning is
acknowledged to be the process which is associated with getting skills, knowledge or
competence by way of being taught, or gaining experience, or via study. Teaching and learning
are considered as important procedures which are significantly linked to one another in multi
folded ways. Now, teacher centred learning can be defined as an approach whereby the activities
as well as the practices taking place within the classrooms are focusses on the teachers. Opposed
to this, student centred learning can be said to be the integration of learning experience,
instructional approach, educational program, and academic support strategies for the purpose of
addressing the different kinds of learning needs, aspirations, interests, or cultural background of
individuals as well as a group of students.
Body (Part 1) – Introduction to teaching models
Teaching model can be comprehensively defined as a plan or pattern that is put to use for
the purpose of shaping a course or curriculum, for selection of instruction materials and for
provision of guidance to the action of a teacher. In other words, it can be said that the models of
teaching are nothing but instructional design which tend to define the procedure for specification
and production of specific environmental scenarios that makes the student to communicate in a
manner that a certain kind of change takes place in their behavioural pattern. Thus, it has been
analysed that teaching models constitute guidelines that need to be leveraged for the purpose of
design of academic activities as well as environments. They lay down the distinct kinds of ways
of carrying out learning as well as teaching which is intended at accomplishment of certain goals.
So, teaching models seek to elevate the learning and experiences for the learners so that they can
achieve growth and success as desired by them in future course of time.
Apart from models, there are several methods and strategies that can be put to use by the
teachers for the purpose of deriving positive results for the learners. In this relation, discussion is
acknowledged to be a suitable method that can be used by the teachers to engage the learners
