This report discusses the importance of effective team working for the success of team goals, including effective team management, development of effective team, five dynamics of an effective team, impact of effective teamworking on team success, barriers to effective teamwork, and roles needed to create a cohesive and effective team. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is used as an example throughout the report.

INTRODUCTION
Effective team working is important for the success of team goals it involves the
effectiveness of each person working together in a group (Hall, 2018). Team member should
solve the problems together and shares idea together for the successful Team.The University of
Wales Trinity Saint David is very diverse in characteristics of individual and the students are
facing problems in working together. In this report development of an effective team is and the
impact of effective team working for team success is included. Furthermore, it includes the
barriers and the types of effective team roles needed to create a cohesive for effective team.

Effective team management
Success of the team is depending upon how individuals are giving their efforts to the
best and working with coordination, solving problems together (Soukup, 2018). It is necessary
for the team to work in group for the success of group goal and the individual goals as well. The
University of Wales Trinity Saint David has diverse and the students are facing problems
working in groups ao they are following many methods and theories for the development of
effective team management.
Development of effective team by the students
Tuckman’s model
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David students are using the Tuckman’s model for
the development of effective team and for the success of the team. Tuckman’s has five stages
which are followed by the students are:
Forming Storming Norming Performing Adjourning
The students are
high dependent
on the leader for
proper guidance
and working in
groups (Jones,
2019).
In this stage the
students of
University is
focusing on
creating their
impression
rather than goals
they are having.
In this stage the
leader is
teaching the
students and
asking the team
members for the
decisions
(Cooksey, 2018).
In this the
leaders of the
University is
rewarding the
team member’s
effective work.
This is the last
stage by the
students or the
leaders to thank
each and every
one for the
performances.

The leader has
to answer all the
questions by
each student.
The team
members want
themselves to be
respected by
others and the
leader is making
them to work
together for the
group goals.
The leader is
planning
strategies for
solving group’s
solutions.
Recognition of
each member by
the groups so
that nobody
should be left.
Recognition of
individuals for
the
achievements.
Students are
maintaining a
good relationship
with others and
the leaders.
They are working
individually for
themselves and
cutting each
other.
Involving each
students in
discussion for
the problems
arrived by the
leaders.
All the team
members and
the students are
appreciating
each other’s
work for the
performances.

leader’s for any
change or
improvement in
future (Sanyal,
2018).

Five Dynamics of an effective team
The students of University are also following these five dynamics of an effective working
for the success of the team goals.
 Psychological safety: The students of University of Wales Trinity Saint David feel safe
psychologically and feel confident in doing any work and accepting their mistakes and
also giving new ideas in groups for better work. Dependability: The team members are taking their responsibility and doing the work
on time with team management for effective work (Sherman, 2020). Structure and Clarity: The roles and duties of each student are cleared by the leaders
so that they work in coordination and do not overlap each others. Meaning: The University students are performing this activity for some kind of sense in
an activity without any meaning or sense the students will not perform the task
effectively Impact: These University students are creating changes and working together in a team
for the success and effective team management because each students thinks that there
work matters.
University of Wales Trinity Saint David is following this theory for the development of
effective teams between the students to avoid conflicts.
Impact of effective teamworking on team success
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David students are working in teams for the effective
team working and success and its building every students confidence and morale or creating
cooperation between them various other impacts are as follows:
 Increase productivity: The students of University are working in teams effectively and
each member is giving its efforts to full it increases the productivity due to group efforts.
Teamwork leads to communicate better with others students or leaders for suggestions or
any mistakes for performing the task and minimises the errors (O'Brien, 2019).
 Better Coordination: Working in groups by the student’s increases the coordination
between the groups and team members. The leaders of each groups of the university is
coordinating their teams for attaining good performances with efficiency and effectively.
Good coordination between the leader and the students leads to great efficiency in work
and productivity.
 Increase in Innovation: Team working in which students give ideas and thoughts to a
situations increase innovation in performances because each member will give new

thoughts and idea for creating a different solution to a given problem. The students of
University of Wales Trinity Saint David is increasing their critical thinking and giving new
innovative ideas by working in groups.
 Reduces Obstacles: By effective Team work reduces obstacles coming in between the
performances because if each member is giving its best to the work and give solutions to
the problems will result in less obstacles. The students of this University is helping each
others in work and obeying the leaders and taking the responsibility of work assigned to
them for reducing the hurdles coming in between the task.
 Equality: The students of University of Wales Trinity Saint David are in diverse and have
different cultural and demographic nature. The task involved different students with different
natures grouping together to work on the task the students are working together in a team
and ignoring the differences for successful work.
 Building trust: Working together leads to build trust among the students because
teamwork encourages everyone to join in the decision making. The leaders of this
University are encouraging each students to work together so every students feel involved
and it increases the trust between the students.
 Better results: Effective team working in the University will give good results because
students will work in groups with full efforts. The students in each group will work together
to compete with other group of students for better performances. It will create good
competition between the groups and the students and increase the overall efficiency of the
University by better results.
Barriers to effective teamwork
There are many barriers that comes in between performing a particular task this barriers
create problems in efficiency doing work or performing particular task (Oh, 2019). Students of
the University of Wales Trinity Saint David are facing various barriers in performing the task in
team some of them are as follow:
 Ineffective leadership: The leaders of the groups in the University is not doing its task
properly and not giving proper guidance to the students for accomplishing the task. The
students are confused about their work and it creates the problems of overlapping the
activities. The leaders are not encouraging the students for effective performances and
work and the students morale is reduces due lack of achievements.
 Improper communication: Due to improper communication in the groups due to
diversity of cultures and languages between the students creates miscommunication and
conflict. Students are not giving proper feedbacks to the leaders about the problems and

the work creates confusions. Lack of communication between the students and the
leader will create unclear goals and duties among the students. The students are not
clear about their roles and responsibility.
 Diversity: This University have diversity of students with different age and genders that
leads to inequality among them. The students with different gender and age resist
working with each others because of dissimilarities in natures. It creates barrier in
effective team work due their resistant nature and the students will not work together to
make success in performing the task.
 Size of the teams: The groups with small size will not have many problems in attaining
the objectives then students with big teams (Paige, 2021). It creates confusion and lack
of coordination due to large numbers and the leaders cannot handle all the students at
one time it becomes difficult for him to answer each students problems.
 More conflicts: The University of Wales Trinity Saint David has large size of diversity of
students working in groups for each task due to different nature conflict arises between
the students. Some conflicts are manageable by the leaders but some conflicts cannot
manage by the leaders and create barriers in achieving group goals.
Although, the barriers can be solved by planning strategies by a good leaders because all
barriers create big hurdle in effeciency of work and for effective team management. This leads
to reduces confidence and morale of the students or efficiency of individual performances.
Roles needed to create a cohesive and effective team
The University of of Wales Trinity Saint David students groups are trying various roles that
are played by the leader to lead the team in an effective way. Cohesive team is something in
which group as well as individual goals are satisfied and the students of the University from
each group is motivated and giving their best to achieve the goals (Bravo ,2019). Roles played
by the leaders to create a cohesive and effective team are:
Authoritarian Leadership Cohesive and effective Participative Leadership

Delegative Leadership
 Authoritarian leadership: This type of leadership is followed by the leaders of the
University so that the leader can take all the responsibility and decision itself without
involving the subordinates on some important work (Odoardi, 2019). In this the work and
the goal will achieve effectively because the students only have to do what the leader is
asking them to do and need to obey the orders. It creates effective team because of no
conflict between the students for any work each students assigned particular task and no
overlapping of work on each others. This leadership is followed by in the groups in which
leader has full knowledge of work and where student’s confusion is more to make the
team cohesive.
 Participative Leadership: The University of Wales Trinity Saint David students are
following this type of leadership for a cohesive and effective team. In this the leaders of
the group give chance to all the students to take part in decision making and crating new
idea and solutions to the problems (Zulfikar, 2019). Every student is motivated by this
method because they feel involved and motivated to achieve group goals working with
team. It improves moral of the students and the leader of the group is also feel free from
burden of taking all the decisions and answering each students questions. This creates
good competition among the students for working better with more creativity and focus.
 Delegative leadership: The students of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David is also
following the delegative style in which all the decision related to group goals are taken by
the students. In this leaders are totally free from taking any actions and create a situation
in which students need to involve new ideas and thoughts for making any decision for
better work. This leads to student’s satisfaction and create an environment of a cohesive
and effective team.
Conclution
From the above report it is been concluded that effective team working is important in
doing any group task and activity. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is following
effective team working models for efficiency in work by the students. Furthermore, it is been
concluded that team working increase the efficiency and productivity of the work due to all the
students are working towards achieving the same goals and giving their best for attaining those
goals. There are many barriers in every effective team work which is natural due to diversity of

students in the University. Lastly, this University uses various leadership roles for a cohesive
and effective team.
