Introduction
Due to the current globalization rate, the organizational workforce is composed of diverse
people with a different level of emotions. These diverse emotions impose challenges to different
leaders in managing the workforce that in many cases are conflicting. The need to have
Emotional Intelligence among leaders thus is indispensable. The following is an annotated
bibliography of the role, impact and development of emotional intelligence on leaders and
workplace.
Article 1: The role of emotional intelligence on personality

The article focuses on exploring the relationship between emotional intelligence and
personality. Based on the different personality traits among the workforce, emotional level and
difference affect job performance; this is significant in determining the best personality traits that
will result in positive emotional intelligence and level. The researcher used a questionnaire with
emotional intelligence scale among 170 working nurses. The questionnaire collected data on
various variables such as empathy, emotional stability, and commitment self-motivation among
many others. Data was subject into Microsoft Excel software and t-test for analysis, and the
results showed that both male and female showed high emotional intelligence score thus were
able to have self-management resulting in good leadership quality. The article is essential to the
topic since it highlights different personality traits that are interconnected with emotional

intelligence and leadership quality. From the study, empathy, value orientation, commitment,
and managing relations scored highly, thus are essential traits.

The researcher aimed at exploring the interdependencies concerning teamwork
effectively as it is vital for the success of an organization. Team diversity has been perceived as
an important aspect of increasing innovation and performance. However, fewer studies have
been conducted on the roles of email intelligence diversity on team roles. The researcher thus
used the pilot study of 42 participants that provided various information related to self-
Assessment Inventory and Emotional Intelligence Level. The researcher used the Mayer-
Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test to determine the emotional quotient of the
participants. The results showed a significant relationship between the ability to manage
emotions and team roles as well as the performance. Like article 1 the researcher denotes that
emotional intelligence can be trained, leaned and management. The article thus is significant to
the student, and the chosen topic as its highlights, how emotional stability can be acquired in a
workplace.
Article 3: The Effects of an Online Mind-Body Training Program on Stress, Coping
Strategies, Emotional Intelligence, Resilience, and Psychological State

The objective of the researcher was to determine the impact of an internet based mind-
body training program on various 87 participant’s level of stress, anger, emotional intelligence,
and coping strategies. The participants were subject into online mind-body training on various
dimensions of emotions who were grouped under two categories; experimental and control
group. The data was collected through the use of a questionnaire before and after the program
and data analysis through the use of ANOVA and student’s t-test. The analysis showed that
online mind-body training had a significant impact on the participants since the level of stress
reduced while emotional intelligence level improved compared to the control group. Like the
other studies that suggest person-centered coaching, online training is significant in enhancing
emotional intelligence and coping strategies of people.
