INTRODUCTION
Employees are most crucial for each and every organisation as they are the individuals
that make their best use of capabilities, skills and talent to perform several tasks so that company
can gain competitive advantages. Human resources manager make use of different motivational
theories in order to inspire them to work as team for achievement of end goals. This report has
discussed crucial point pertaining to analysis of HRD environment and its various opportunities
and threat. It has also included key information related to the changes that company wants to
bring to training environment so that employees are guide and support the way activities are
performed in best possible manner. Furthermore it has covered points pertaining to the way
future training need will be identified and plan for providing effective training and development
program to employees for better outcome.

Human resource department is responsible for recruitment, selection and management of
the high talented employees in the firm that are ready to give their best for growth of company.
So HRD environment can be defined as social environment that include work culture, attitude,
productivity, nature and behaviour of HR, motivational aspects, compensation method and
employees demand and supply in particular industry. It is environment that helped in
understanding type of motivation, behaviour, attitude and work culture is present in firm that
helps in managing and retaining maximum number of employees for its growth and expansion
(Naim and Lenka, 2018).
The HRD of Tesco has created a friendly and healthy environment in the enterprise so
that each and every employee are motivated to work in team rather than fighting with each other
on different aspects. It has ensured that there should be open and free communication between
people so strong relationship can be developed and they are ready to work together for
achievements of end goals. The HR manager always tried to organise various learning and
development program in order to enhance existing skill, knowledge of people so that they can
effective complete the task. So, opportunities to employees are provided to learn new method
and techniques or find innovative and creative ideas that company may make use to sustain its

market positioning for longer time frame (Virkebau and Hazak, 2017). The HR has created such
an environment where each and every individuals give respect, recognition to others thus it
eliminate the chance of discrimination to maximum extend. It has tried to provide equal growth
opportunities, training and development program and many more so that they can be happy and
satisfied to work for organisation.
Moreover the Human resource has positive nature that helped employees in stay
motivated even in problematic situation as they are there to resolve their respective issue. They
have created such an environment where everyone has opportunities to come and share their
respective problem, key issue that they are facing while working in firm. So that alternative
method could be fine to resolve the same for benefits of all. So it has ensured that all ethical,
value and moral principles are followed by individuals thereby no harm or negative impact is
caused on other person. Along with all such benefits the HR manager also makes sure that all
individuals are provided with appropriate compensation, wages so that they are highly motivated
to improve their overall performance and productivity to maximum extend. The HRD has also
environment that provide opportunities to employees to share their feedback or viewpoints in any
decision so that company can get better alternative options (Manuti and Giancaspro, 2019). The
environment has made ensure that health and safety of people are prioritising so that no harm can
be cause to them in any circumstances. Manager has also provided sufficient resources to each
employee that is working in firm so that they can complete task in limited time and cost.
Furthermore appropriate guidance and support has helped employees in effectively completing
their task without much mistakes. So, all these opportunities present in HRD has contribute in
retaining talented employees, enhancing brand image and profit margin of company in retail
industry. Moreover, employees have started feeling themselves as highly valuable and important
for organisation that has created a feeling of sense of belongingness among them. Therefore, in
overall the HRD of Tesco has created better place for people to work, make optimum use of their
skills and capabilities.
The threat that is present in Human resources department is that there are only limited
professional individuals that are responsible for hiring, selecting and recruiting right individuals
at right place. At the same time in order to select particular candidate a lot of procedure, policies
made by government have to be followed by the HR that lead in wasting a lot of time, efforts in
selecting talented employees that can work for firm benefits. Along with it, Tesco is large
