Introduction
Employability skills are transferable abilities which are required by an individual in
order to make sure that they are employed. There are a number of different skills such as
technological knowledge, decision making skills, time management skills, negotiation skills,
communication skills and perfection in different fields which are required by employees
when they want to get an employment. It is necessary for a person to have interpersonal skills
along with problem-solving skills which can be used as an initiative in order to successfully
complete the desired work of their employers (Suleman, 2018). Professional development is
important to enhance the skills as well as knowledge of employees which will help them to
increase their overall ability and also productivity for the organisation. The skills that are
required for employment are very necessary for growth and progress of individuals in
different standards. In the following essay the organisation of learning and performance of
key skills are defined. Along with it different tools and techniques to enhance interpersonal
and transferable skill are discussed. A personal and professional development plan is also
demonstrated in the essay.

Tools and techniques for enhancing interpersonal and transferable skills
There are a number of different skills which are required by an employee in order to
make sure that they are doing their needful in the organisation. Enhancement of skills is
required and necessary in order to make sure that correct representation of work is done
within the organisation. There are a number of key skills such as interpersonal and
transferable skills which are necessary in an organisation for every employee. This will also
be modified with a number of different tools and techniques as mentioned below:
Interpersonal skill: Interpersonal skills involve various behavioral methods or different
tactics that are used by an individual in order to make connection with others and
communicate (Jeswani, 2016). It is necessary that one is leaving positive impact on mind of
others. When generally talking the ability of work in corporate sector includes
communication as well as correct listening in order to make sure that the attitude of everyone

in the organisation is towards attaining objective of the business. Some of interpersonal skill
development are mentioned below:
Communication: Communication skills involves personal way of sharing information with
each other in order to make sure that the work in organisation is complete and can be
successfully carried out in the given amount of time along with the quality of work. It is
necessary that a person is understanding the environment of business and then taking steps in
order to make sure that they are effectively transferring information (Tsitskari, Goudas and
Michalopoulou, 2017). It is necessary that effective communication is helpful to analyse
different ways of working in the workplace and also improve confidence of people while they
are performing different tasks successfully. It is often seen that communication in
organisation also helps in coordination as well as cooperation between various staff members.
It is necessary in a team for everyone to collaboratively work towards the goals.
Communication skills make it easy for individuals to successfully work together and achieve
qualitative as well as better outcomes according to the goals and objective of organisation.
Empathy: empathy is very necessary in employs in order to work properly. It is necessary
that employees in organisation are taking care of feeling of others and also thinking about
everyone while conducting their task. It is often seen that understanding problem of others
and being consistent in work helps in problem-solving skills and also generating good
outcomes for certain problems in the organisation. It is necessary that individual is capable of
understanding others’ feelings and also sharing their own experience successfully with others
in order to make sure that they can generate professional relationship in order to complete
their task successfully. It is also often seen that when a professional is successfully generating
relationship in the organisation it helps in improvement of their own skill. They can easily
ask for help from others if they have empathy and they can also explain their problem to
others in order to make sure that different skill of different employs in the organisation are
supporting each other to successfully attain the objective of business.
Negotiation: Negotiation is another important skill for an employee in order to make sure
that they are trading in the market with everyone successfully. It is often seen that an
employee has to deal with customers or suppliers on a daily basis. They need to make sure
that the decision while making deals is in their favour. In order to do so negotiation skill
helps in understanding all the terms and conditions along with influencing others to work
towards organisational goal. It is also often seen that there are a different number of steps
included in negotiation process. This involves preparation, planning, definition of different
ground rules, clarification and justification, bargaining, problem solving and then the closure
