INTRODUCTION Employability skills refers to those skills which are needed by an individuals to makethem employable. These skills and attitudes increase the employee to enhance their performancein business and makes them an effective employee in which organisation will achieve thepersonal goals (Andrews and Russell, 2012). Their are various types of employability skills suchas communication, self management and team work skill which are required in particular personfor working in an association. In the present report, is based on Travelodge which is an privatecompany operating in the hotels and hospitality industry throughout United Kingdom. Inrespective industry Travelodge have approx. 400 hotels and restaurants worldwide. It isconsidered as the second largest in hotel sector in terms of budget. This file analyse the set ofown responsibilities and performance objectives and reviewing how motivational techniques canbe used to improve quality of performance. It also determines the need to develop interpersonaland transferable skills by understanding the dynamics of working with others. At last it had alsodescribe about various tools and methods through which company can be able to developstrategies of solving problem which is mentioned in the report. 1

TASK 1P1.1 Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectivesThere are several roles and responsibilities of individual which can results in achievingobjectives as well as predetermined goals. Personal responsibility – As being a manager at Travelodge, my primary role is to ensure all daily activities athotel that will be executed in a proper way. My responsibilities will include maintaining directand indirect relationship with the employees or maintain effective relationship amongemployees as well as boosting employees relations . Therefore, performance objective to thisresponsibility is to improve communication which will be analysed by rating. I saw thisresponsibility to become familiar with each and every individual in the organisation, as well asindirect relationship helps me to carry a professional relation with staff.In addition to this my responsibility in Travel lodge is to make quick and correctdecisions regarding employees work, policies and regulations in order to conduct businessoperations in a smooth way which results in increasing customers for the respective firm. Forexample, I have to make quick decision about service menu and delegating duties to staffs atvarious levels.Further my responsibility also includes to learn while working in Travelodge whichenhance my knowledge and skills. I need to carry attitude of learning things from otheremployees. As a manager I should be aware about the rights and responsibilities of employeeswithin Travelodge hotel (Cunningham and Hillier, 2013). For example, I have to understand themistake properly which was done previously and compare it with next similar task and measurethe improvement such as outcomes from delegated responsibility to staffs now and previously.I should have proper knowledge regarding employment legislations and ethics to workaccording within the set rules. This helps me to provide appropriate information and updates sothat employees can be made ware about the changes in laws, rules and regulations.Performance Objectives- In order to achieve effective objectives within definite time period,being a manager at Travelodge I must analyse my strengths and weaknesses.Use of various systems in order to increase employee's performance- Appraisalsystem in the organisation helps the employees to increase their performance.
