INTRODUCTION
Employability skills is a ability and efficiencies that is possessed by individuals that are
working in business organisation. There are certain skills and knowledge that should be present
in every employee in order to carry out work task effectively and efficiently. Company must
render proper training and development process to enhance their working ability and capacity.
The selected company that is taken in this report is National Health Service organisation that
supply health care facilities like primary care, long term health care, dentistry and many more.
This report highlight the diverse types of employability skills that include effective
communication, interpersonal, team work etc. All these are coordinated together so that final
aims and objectives can be accomplished effectually. Assignment throws light on importance of
motivational tools that result in improving the quality of employee's performance. Teams play
vital role in every organisational system and are concentrated in completing specific task in
particular time period.
TASK 1
In order to perform better management in business activities one must possess certain
abilities to carry out responsibilities and enhance performances in business activities. I must
enhance my ability so that in can perform my duties and responsibilities in a better way. My
concentration will be concentrating on several factors for developing better working culture in
National Health Service. As the organisation is dealing in health care service so it becomes
more important to have a better organisational culture to perform activities in an effective
manner. Some off the skills I must have to deal these kind of situations are teamwork,
communication, problem solving, leadership , creativity, and awareness about this sector. Firstly
talking about team work better coordination will help in executing efficient planning in reaching
out to serve more people (Riley, 2014). By better teaming up of different branches can reach out
to different geographical location in all over UK to explore and give more health assistance and
facilities to needy people. But for having an potent team work communication plays crucial role,
that helps in transferring right information in an effectual manner. As a responsible person I
must enhance my problem solving ability that arises in changing environment. To perform better
creative thinking in work place will also increase potential of organisation for more exploration

As a leader of a team I must perform my work with responsibility as social health care is
one of the important sector where government tend to fund large sum of money in this sector. I
must plan to give responsibilities to my workforce according to their skill sets for enhancing
performance of employees. For planning against challenging working condition I have to
develop my knowledge and skills to use them in my work. While implementing new and
innovative idea in business activity it is essential to have wide knowledge about policies of
organisation and government and the way they National Health Service is following their
activities. Another important aspects that are to be considered are strength and weakness of
organisation, by analysing this I can try formulate plan to carve out weakness that exist in
organisation. Apart form understanding internal factor of organisation I must also concentrate on
external factors also that affect business activities of National Health Service.
By analysing several activities and way of performing work I feel that there are several
areas where improve net is necessary for better utilisation of resources. First is communication,
according to me it is not up to the mart and need further improvement. This factor need
improvement because patients have to be handle with care that can be done by efficient
communicating practices. It will also improve coordination between different departments of
organisation. Leadership quality must be enhanced also, all the leaders must be capable to to
learn new skills and apply them in their business activities for increasing their reach in new
geographical region. Planning in not appropriate in National Health Service. Organisation
sometimes find it difficult to assign job according to skill and knowledge of person, planning and
strategies have to be done in deattribution of work among the employees. Presentation is another
factor, all the leaders and employees must be presentable in their work so that they can generate
trust among patients to avail their service, doctors and their assistants must be equipped with all
important equipments to treat their patients in effectual way. Professional knowledge is included
among the effectual factors that should me implemented. Skilful medical staff have more
potential to serve more number of people in effective manner. Technology must also be utilised
in providing medical services to patients. As it help in proper evaluation and providing proper
healthcare facilities to people. Understanding Psychological factor is also useful, a leader must
also work in understanding psychological factor and and mentality of employees. As the
company is working in social sector it is crucial to understand approach of their workforce.

Having positive mentality in serving people will be beneficial for National Health Service in
longer run.
For understanding and strengthening workforce practices different motivational theories
are used to increase quality their performances. Theory that is more suitable in understanding
and motivating employee is Maslow Motivational theory for better guiding their workforce for
maintaining their activities. This theory suggest that implementation of different will help in
better evaluation and improve activities in organisational structure. First is psychological need
where a leader has to understand basic needs and wants of their workforce that include food,
clothes, shelter of that they can perform their work efferently. The other factor is safety needs of
their employees. Apart from providing basic need to people leaders have to make sure that their
employees are working in safer environment (Simatele, 2015). For example National Health
Service want to extend their service to less developed counties and villages in UK, so they must
provide better working conditions for their employees to perform better. Third factor is love and
belongings where employees can make good friendship and binding between employees,this will
increase positivity in working environment. Fourth factor is Esteem Need where a leader has to
understand personal need employees that include confidence, respect , motivation and positive
work culture. The last and important factor that is defined in Maslow theory is Self –
Actualisation under this employees are divided into two broad division, they have divided
employees into performing and non performing employees or (theory X and Y). Theory X
includes those employees those are demotivated in their work, here job of the manager is to
understand their wishes and desires and make their work resonating with activities of
organisation. Theory Y include those types of employees that are performing potentially in
National Health Service.

The above factor discussed that as a manager in social health care and services I must
perform my responsibilities very well. For doing better work in National Health Service it is
important for me to understand mu potential and weaknesses and work effectively on them. For
better understanding of employees and motivate them to perform better I must realise and
implement theories like Maslow for better understanding and regulating my workforce.
TASK 2
a) 2.1 and 4.1
There are many work based problems which an organisation faces on daily basis and
superiors used different tools and methods in order to overcome those problems. Some of the
problems which I have seen in NHS are mentioned below:
PROBLEM:

Discrimination: NHS is dealing in health care sector and I have seen that some of the
employees discriminate their fellow members on the basis of sex, religion, caste, position, talent
etc. I have administered this problem within the premise and this is very bad for the reputation of
NHS.
SOLUTIONS:
To eliminate this problem, NHS can implement Anti Discrimination Act or Equality Act,
2010 within organisation to avoid every possible type of discrimination.
Me as a part of NHS can suggest them “HELP BOX” in which any victim of
discrimination can complain against that person.
EVALUATION:
This will help management to take action against that person without telling the name of
victim. With this, discrimination rate will slow down.
PROBLEM:
Lack of staff: I have also found out that, NHS is lacking appropriate staff to handle
pressure and are unable to provide better services to the patients and visitors.
SOLUTION:
To remove this problem, I have suggested external recruitment to management. With this,
they can hire talented candidates which can perform their activities under pressure.
EVALUATION:
This will ultimately improve NHS services and they can properly focus on their patients
and new employees will maximise the efficiency of NHS.
PROBLEM:
Money issues: This is another issue that is faced by employees of NHS. They are
continuously working and are not getting their salaries on time. Their job hours is increasing due
to pressure and management is not paying them on time.
SOLUTION:
To eliminate above problem, I have suggested the management to provide their pays and
salaries on time. For this, management can inform HR manager to take responsibility to clear out
the pending salaries.
EVALUATION:

This will motivate employees to perform their activities and they will feel energetic at
work. It is hard for a HR to perform this job specially at the time of pressure but in order to avoid
high turnover, then they have to focus on this problem also.
b) 2.2 and 4.3.
Communication is an important process that involve exchanging of information between
two or more parties. There are different styles of communication that help communicating to
peers and superiors. These styles are used to communicate at different levels of organisation. A
proper communication should be there between parties so that a particular issue can be solved
without any problem. I have used certain styles of communication to interact with different
people working at different levels of organisation. Those styles are mentioned below:
Verbal communication: This type of communication uses words to interact with another
person. As this is an effective communication methods to interact with managements, that is why
I have used this method to address work problems to my seniors. This method posses great and
serious impact on seniors and therefore, they can act easily in the way to solve that problem.
Verbal communication involves formal and informal communication. I have adopted formal way
to communicate the issue to management.
Written communication: In this, a person interact with another person through written
words. This is very effective tool to interact with seniors. I chose this method and wrote down
different problems that I found out in the organisation. By writing letter, I have communicate the
problem as this is the formal method to interact with higher authorities.
Above communication methods are the most effective and efficient method to
communicate with management and is a formal way. I have listed the details of above mentioned
problems so that management gets proper idea about the issue and plan their strategies to resolve
that. With above communication method, management will focus more on the issue and will take
steps to eliminate it as soon as possible.
c) 2.3 and 4.2
Time management refers to performing all job tasks in proper time so that it get
completed and do not get delayed (Hinchliffe, 2013). There are procedures for managing time
which should be used by managers in order to perform their activities on time. Following are the
procedure of time management:
 How to spend time.

 Priorities are set.
 Planning tool is used.
 Get organised.
 Proper scheduling of time.
 Delegating.
 Avoid procrastinating.
 Manage external time wasters.
 Reduce or avoid multitasking.
 Stay healthy.
Above are some crucial steps that are followed to manage events and activities of
company within time. This helps in effective management and timely completion of objectives.
In order to improve work based problem as mentioned above, it require special attention and
management of those issues within time. As NHS are running out of time to manage all their
problems but by using these steps of time management, they can easily solve their problems
within time.
I am responsible for resolving a problem related to shortage of staff members in NHS and
I have to solve it within a period of 1 month. I am aware about the problem very well and also
have knowledge about different steps of time management strategy. By following them I can
resolve this problem.
 How to spend time: In this , I have to prepare a plan that will help me to resolve this
problem within time. I will plan out my activities and perform according to my plan. For
example: In this step, I will find out the the whole recruitment and selection procedure
and will analyse which step will take more time.
 Priorities are set: In this, I will set different priorities related to problem and give more
importance to attracting candidates and short listing. Other priorities will be methods that
I will use to hire candidates.
 Planning tool is used: In this, I will plan out my activities that I will perform in future
like, attracting, short-listing, taking interviews, providing offer letters, etc.
 Proper scheduling of time: I will divide time for every activity accordingly so that I can
resolve shortage of staff within 1 month.

 Delegating: To fasten my activities, I can take help from my seniors and colleges to help
me with my duties.
 Reduce or avoid multitasking: This time, I will focus on this problem and will not take
any other responsibility. This will increase my efficiency of my activities and will able to
concentrate more on the problem.
With other methods, I can easily manage my activities and will resolve this problem on
time (Nagendra, Radha, and Naidu, 2013).
TASK 3
Teamwork plays very vital role in managing business activities and achieving goals of
National Health Service. Team work facilitate organisation to achieve goals on time. It is the best
way to combine efforts and talents of different employees and can work together to complete
some goals. There are different roles and responsibilities that are played by employees while
working in a team. Managers choose employees which have unique qualities and talents that will
be required for performing business activities. When different talents are combined together then
the team can achieve their shared goals in effective and proper manner.
Team dynamics include psychological factors that impact the behaviour and performance
of the team. They are invisible factors that influence the working of my team. If my team have
positive team dynamics then team can easily achieve their goals without any problems and if
they have negative team dynamics, then team might not be able to work properly and may not
achieved set goals. As a manager, it is necessary for me to analyse all factors that can pose
negative as well as positive impact on team and reduce or eliminate possible negative impacts.
Certain factors that leads to poor dynamics are weak leadership, blocking, excessive deference to
authority, etc. This leads to decrease the effectiveness of my team. I can analyse these factors
and reduce the impact as soon as possible. I have to ensure that my team works in a healthy
environment and I can support them whenever they are in need.
There are different goals and tasks that is set by company and I can develop different and
alternative ways to achieve that. It is important to develop different and effective ways for
objective completions because is one way fails, then there are numerous other manner through
which the goals can be achieved. Another importance of this are that, it increases the
effectiveness of employees as they can select best method to achieve the goal. With proper
concentration and dedication, they can complete their tasks.

Some alternative ways that can be used are framing, siding, painting, inspection and
shipping. In Framing, framing of entire project is done in order to get rough idea. In Siding, team
will schedule their rough project step by step. In Painting, employees will compete tasks so as to
make tasks presentable in form of its users. In Inspection, experts analyse all aspects of the
projects in order to ensure that final products does not have any kind of damage or fault. In
shipping, the final product is shipped to the clients.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that employability skills are present in
individual in accurate manner. Managers play a important role in this aspect as they render full
attention in enhancing these abilities in conducive way. NHS is a well established social sector
that contain number of employees that possess various kinds of abilities. This report include
various strategies that are adopted to solve problems and issues that get raised in any situation.
Apart from it, there are specific roles and responsibilities that are played by every individual
effectively.
