INTRODUCTION
Employee relation is referred as the activity that is undertaken by the organisation in order to
batter relation with employees who are working in organisation. Employees are loyal and
more engaged with organisation, if there are effective relationship is maintained. It is the
industrial relationship between the organisation and its employees. In an organisation,
human resource manager is appointed in order to ensure positive environment and plays
various role such as resolve employee conflicts as well as issues, monitor their efforts and
motivates them to achieve all defined goals and objectives. He formulates policies that
facilitates the organisation by developing respect, trust among employees and maintain
transparency in organisational functions. Employee relation is concerned about the welfare
and enhance good working condition for employees in order to retain them for long period
of time. In this report, the chosen organisation is Sainsbury which is founded in the year of
1869 by John James Sainsbury (Bolhuis, de Jong, and van den Bosch, 2018). Headquarter
of respective organisation is situated in London, England, United Kingdom. It is the second
largest supermarket in UK that provides retailing services to their customers. In this report
importance and legislations are being covered. There are various roles and duties of
employee and employer, various strategies are discussed in the project report.

Employment relationship: Employment relations is related to maintain positive relation
between organisation and employees. If organisation build effective relation with its
employees, it motivates employees to perform assigned task in effective way (Cantele, and
Zardini, 2018). It is very importance for the Sainsbury to achieve organisational goals and
objective effectively. There are various legislations are passed by the government in order to
ensure employees safety and security. Some importance and legislations are discussed
below:
Retain loyal employees within organisation: Effective as well as positive relation
between employees and organisation is helpful to retain skilled and potential

employees who are able to perform functions effectively and help the organisation to
achieve all goals and objectives. Sainsbury provide various financial as well as
nonfinancial motivation and resolve their problems efficiently in order to retain them
with organisation for long run.
Resolve organisational conflicts: Conflicts are some factors that affects
performance of employees in various ways. Effective relation between organisation
and employees is able to solve various conflicts at their initial stage (Dabija, and
et.al., 2017). Sainsbury evaluates all problems of employees and solve them
effectively to enhance employee performance.
Value and importance of Employee relations
Phrase dynamic working surrounding: Various type of individual work at Sainsbury
for formulating the course of actions in company. The diversity in culture is present at a
major level to follow the policies of business. Individuals requires an surrounding that
should be suitable to them as according to their demands. Respective issues and problems
in an organisation arises daily due to cultural diversity. Hence, there is an effective
human resource management present at Mark and Spencer in respect to resolve those
disputes. It helps in increasing the satisfaction of individuals that helps in creating
suitable working conditions in an organisation. Human resource management at
Sainsbury helps to employees for overcome the level of stress to get relaxed and enjoy
their work.
Career growth: The personnel in the management desire the process of training in their
career as well as they want to increase in their salary and incentives. At Sainsbury the
human resource management concentrates on career growth of an individuals by
managing the brief classification of their actions. It maintain the part in phrase the
employee relations in the management. In respect to increase the production hence, the
individuals career growths is get considered(Debicki, Van de Graaff Randolph, and
Sobczak, 2017). Career growth in an adequate manner by human resource management
that helps in bringing development in short period of time to get increase the amount of
satisfaction of the individual for longer period of time. Career growth at Sainsbury is
termed an essential role of human resource management that helps in making
organisation as in more competitive way.
